Stephen of Borg 2 Posted April 6, 2006 Since she was assimilated just like everyone else, how was she chosen to be the leader of everyone? Was she chosen because her species created the Borg? All the Borg thought she was best for the job? Just randomly selected? What are your thoughts?
Odie 0 Posted April 6, 2006 I would be the current Queen Borg would choice the person that will replace her in the future. She would receive special program that would only be activate when the current Queen is no longer operational. After the operation she is the Queen of the Borg that will go under physical/mental transformation that will have all the powers and abilities that required for her function in that rule. I don't see any changes in personality from Queen to another, because it’s all programs and storied memory.
He Who Shall Not Be Named 2 Posted April 7, 2006 (edited) So when does Prince Charles get to be Queen? And how do you explain how Alice Krige got to be Queen twice? Of course my theory is the Borg were grooming 7 of 9 to be Queen one day. She was one of the first humans to be assimilated, humans are (that we know of) the only species to defeat the Borg, she was intelligent even when not part of the collective, maybe the Borg saw some potential in her. So they let her experiment with being an individual and in Dark Frontier even let her keep her individualism while part of the collective to give her a sense of uniqueness within the hive. Could be? Takara_Soong 4 Posted April 10, 2006 The Borg Queen was Species 125 so she wasn't of the race that created the Borg. I agree with Van Roy that the Borg Queen had been grooming Seven of Nine. I think she said as much in a couple of episodes of Voyager. As for why Alice Krige got to be the Borg Queen twice - simple. The Borg Queen wasn't killed in First Contact. Her physical presence was there but her consciousness was still part of the Collective. Picard made mention of her being on the cube that the Enterprise destroyed in BOBW so obviously her consciousness could survive a cube being destroyed even if her "body" didn't.
