APW 0 Posted February 11, 2006 (edited) One of my favorite TOS episodes. I felt terrible for Commodore Decker. In the short time he was on screen, you sort of got the feeling that he was a great commander, almost Kirk-like. But losing his entire crew just snapped his mind. Too bad. You know, I just noticed that James Blish' adaption of this episode in the novelization is different. In the adapation by Blish, Decker doesn't die. Kor37 9 Posted February 11, 2006 If you want to find out what really happened to Decker, go to NewVoyages.com and download the episode entitled "In Harms Way". Its sort of a sequel to "The Doomsday Machine" and they do a fantastic job with it!
Data 0 Posted February 20, 2006 When I first saw this episode, I hated it. I prefered the episodes where they went on away missions. But after watching it a few times, I began to like the character development in the episode. Kirk thought Decker was obsessed. But eventually took one of his ideas, minus the suicidal part.
