Wishfire 2 Posted January 26, 2006 Does anyone know anything about HTML, or know a website that can help me with it? I just started a site with invisionfree, and I don't really know jack about coding. I figured, it's best to learn by doing. Any help is appreciated.

TrekkieMage 0 Posted January 26, 2006 Perhaps one of the best sites I know is Getting Down With XHTML. Don't let the X scare you, it's just a newer version of HTML. If you pardon the cheesy title, the site is actually very good. It complies with the internet standards that are set by w3c and gives you a head start with CSS, which invisionfree also uses. If you want me to check out your site layout and stuff I'd me more than happy to give you a few pointers!
Wishfire 2 Posted January 27, 2006 Thanks, TM. I'm going to check out these sites first and see what I can figure out on my own. If I need help I'll ask.

TrekkieMage 0 Posted January 28, 2006 Yeah, XHTML rocks. HTML is too overloaded with stuff that you really don't need. And that coupled with CSS makes for awesome sites ^_^ As for the sites you mentioned stvoyagerfan21, here's my 10 second critique's : webmonkey: decent, but they want to teach frames? Yuck... DevGuru: Looks awesome  Got a long list of shtuff. But it could be confusing to a newbie. Jupitermedia: gave me a 404 error o.O Dave's Web: looks a bit cluttered with ads... w3: YAY! These people set the standards for the web. Good people to look to. Their tutorials are all at http://www.w3schools.com  HTML Beginner's Guide: Looks good. Clean and to the point. HTML Ref: Good, if you already know HTML and CSS.
