Just got a phone call from my brother David. His wife gave birth to a baby girl about 20-minutes ago.

My new niece is named Gabrielle. I'm off to hospital now , so I may not be back online until tomorrow.

She's a chubby little blue-eyed, redhead.

She weighed a shade under 10-pounds.

 

And she keeps a scowl on her face. :blink:

She's going to be a handful.

 

I was kind of hoping for a nephew, as my brother promised to name the baby after me if it were a boy (and he and his wife say that after 7 kids, this is the last). But I'm thrilled all the same.

 

Her first name is Gabrielle (after my sister-in-law's mother), and her midle name is Elisa (after my sister-in-law's grandmother).

Congratulations, APW! I know the feeling of having a new neice or nephew quite well (I have two of each), and it is almost as good a feeling as being a new parent yourself.

 

 

Your brother and sister-in-law have SEVEN kids? We have 4, and that was enough for me. Congratulations again!
