Lions fire Mariucchi, Bly knows Why...

Recommended Posts

So, for those who haven't heard, the Detroit Lions fired Head Coach Steve Mariucchi(sp?) and promoted Defensive Coordinator Richard Jauron to Interim Head Coach.

Dre' Bly says he knows WHY Mooch was fired. He has released a very long statement about it, but you can boil it down to two words.

Joey Harrington.

I don't disagree, Dre'. Joey Harrington was a 3rd Round pick 4 years ago. He was expected to come in and turn the Lions around. He's had 4 years. The only reason he's still playing is because Jeff Garcia (Who is no Ely Manning, To tell you the truth) has been injured.

But, Joey isn't the only problem the Lions have. Nope, not hardly. See, the Lions have NO offensive line. And without them, you can't win. It's that simple. Just ask the Houston Texans.

With two other coaches in trouble in the NFC north, not to mention teams outside the NFC that might drop their present coaches, Mariucchi may not have to look hard for a new job.

You could also be talking about the Baltimore Ravens. Kyle Boller was picked up 3 years ago to be our QB of the future. He has been nothing but a joke as evidenced this past week where Boller actually managed to tackle himself! The Ravens have also never had an offensive line. A lot of similarities between the 2 teams.

Haven't the Ravens won a superbowl in the past 5 years, though, Kor? When was the last time the Lions won a Superbowl?

Good Point!
