Family Only message board

Recommended Posts

A few nights ago I fixed-up an Invisionfree board for one of my aunts.

It's "family only". Since we're all scattered around the place now (California, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Indiana, and on and on...), my Aunt thought it would be a neat idea to have a message board where our family members can get together every day and chat.

Does anyone else have a place like that?

I told me aunt I'd never heard of it, but it sounds like fun. An online family reunion of sorts. B)

Had not heard of that. Sounds kind of weird, too, one member getting to be the admin, and thus, in charge of the forum, who may not necessarily be the head of the family. I guess it's more reliable than email correspondence. But the forum would get kind of boring, too, I'd imagine.

Yeah, I think it'd get boring, because a vast majority of the threads would be one member saying something, and the rest saying, "We'll keep you in our thoughts/prayers." At least that's how it'd go with my family.

I for one, would not want the kind of forum where it'd be like the dinner table. Everything spilling guts on their day. Half the time, I tuned out and focused more on making sure I didn't get caught not eating my green beans.

Well, admiral, I think it sounds like a great idea but I guess it depends on the family. It wouldn't work with my family because not all of them go online or want to.

The closest we come is a newsletter I do every quarter and I do it because I am the one who started it and does the work and everyone thinks it's great aslong as I'm willing to put the time into it. I'm guessing most people will feel the same way about a board admin.
