The 8:00 p.m. hour

Recommended Posts

I am so ready for the television of the future when you can watch when it's convenient not when they tell you you have to. I mean how I'd love to watch CSI at 7:00 p.m. - sure I can tape it and watch it tomorrow but most nights I have to wait until 9 or 10 until something comes on - by which time I fall asleep. B)

When I lived in the Mountain Time Zone primetime started at 7:00 p.m. and ended at 10:00 what is the deal with 8-11 - don't people work or go to school in the mornings?

Most do but I think that most people just don't need to go to sleep as early you. I'm in university every morning at about half eight so I'm up quite a bit earlier. I only sleep about four hours a night, it's all I need. I still work fine and feel refreshed when I awake. I also get to watch all the shows I want to at night.

Since I go to work at 2:00 am, I rarely get to watch anything when it is actually on. I have 2 vcrs running every night to record things I want to watch and then I watch them when I can.

I gather from your post UH that you do not know how to program your VCR timer?

Get a DVR, with DRV TV DOES wait for you & they're easy to program.

I know exactly how to set my vcr but as I indicated in my first post - taping something at ten doesn't change the fact there is nothing to watch at 8:00. There's like two hours of no mans (7-9)land every night before something worth watching comes on. Well except for Mondays - a/k/a Stargate Mondays

Then all you need is a large enough inventory of recorded shows to hold you over. I have about 30 hours recorded and more is constantly being added so I never run out of something to watch.

I need to get myself a DVR, for when I bowl and Wrestling and/or The Penguins or Steelers are on B)

When the new season started I found myself watching more television just to see what was new and to keep up with series that I have watched in the past. After only a few weeks I find I am back to having maybe 5 or 6 series that I want to watch regularly and half of those are not "must see" but "if I'm in the mood to see" category.
