Theunicornhunter 2 Posted August 13, 2005 I'm not a big sports fan but I can't escape the annual Gator/Seminole rivalry. So needless to say this ruling hits home here in Florida. I was wondering what people thought. I've actually had Indian mascots nearly everywhere I lived. High School was the Braves, college the "Utes" and I then lived in DC (Redskins) and Tallahassee (Seminoles). So, is anyone affected by this? Is it good or bad? Honestly I always felt is wasn't appropriate. But I think the opinions of the Tribes themselves is what matters. Apparently they don't all object. Anyway, what does everyone else think? mcnbc
Kor37 9 Posted August 13, 2005 I object to the political correctness of all this. Using Indian names for mascots isn't meant to insult anyone. I think it honors the Indian people. Sheesh, why don't we get rid of all of the animal names too? We wouldn't want to offend them either.....................
