Madame Butterfly 0 Posted July 24, 2005 (edited) Hands down, the best amusement park in America is Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. Not only is this the sentimental favorite for me, but it also has 2 of the top 5 roller coasters in the world, and the most rollar coasters in any amusement park in the World. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_pa...lercoasters.cfm Edited July 24, 2005 by Madame Butterfly
A l t e r E g o 9 Posted July 24, 2005 For this area: Knotts Berry Farm or Six Flags Magic Mountain with 6 Flags being the best. Knotts is better than Disneyland though, DL has become so big a Corporation they have lost touch with the customers, oh they put on a good front but where it counts; they suck. I'd rather go to a County Fair than DL.
HRH The KING 0 Posted July 24, 2005 The entire Pleasure Beach and Golden Mile in Blackpool. Back in the day, when it didn't suck, and wasn't overrun with Chavs.
Itchygomba69 0 Posted July 24, 2005 Alterego I was @ Knotts Berry Farm when I was younger I dont really remember it much do they have a website King why does it suck so much i heard its one of the best Parks in Europe!
HRH The KING 0 Posted July 24, 2005 Well Blackpool has really fallen far. The shops are tacky and run down. The arcades are old and obsolete. Plus Blackpool attracts a number of "nightclubbers" who have made it into a warzone. Drunken parties, people being sick on the streets, fighting, brawling etc. It's really lost most of it's charm. The government are planning on making it the "casino" capital of the UK which will make it even more sleazy.

Theunicornhunter 2 Posted July 24, 2005 Favorite, I'm not sure I have one. I've been to many of the ones listed but not all. DisneyWorld - FL Universal Studios - FL Disneyland - CA Knotts Berry Farm - CA Magic Mountain - CA Kings Dominion - VA Busch Gardens - FL They've all become so cost prohibitive I'm not sure they're worth it. I also liked Colonial Williamsburg but it isn't really an "amusement park"
Ace 0 Posted July 24, 2005 (edited) Let's see... I've been to: DisneyLand - CA DisneyWorld, et al - FL King's Island - OH Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom - KY Busch Gardens - VA? Sea World - OH (if it qualifies. We were there before it closed, also near Cedar Point but didn't go) I'm going back to King's Island this wkend, so I'll have a better idea of my pick then. For me, it's between King's Island, Busch Gardens and DisneyWorld. -Oh, and Dollywood, TN. We can't forget good ol' Dollywood. :P Edited July 24, 2005 by Ace

KIMIMELA 1 Posted July 26, 2005 (edited) In England, Staffordshire, there is a theme park called Alton Towers. This is the Oblivion: One of the oldest rides in the park, the Oblivion takes you up really high. You go slowly around a bend, then hang over a 90 degree drop as they take your picture. Without timing, the carriage plunges into a ice-cold hole of steam and darkness and out into daylight at the end. 4/5, it should be longer. Click For Spoiler Air: And there is a cool ride called Air where you actually ride as if you are flying. You sit in normally and then the seats tip forward and you are whizzed around in the air. I love it, in fact I have an Air hat. Click For Spoiler Any UK fans been on these? Please tell me Edited July 26, 2005 by xXTrekkieCaraXx
