Just imagine what you could do in your "basement" lol

With one of those I'd have a scale replica of DS9 as my basement lol

I think I saw one of those homes on While You Were Out. The house was pretty cool although they did have some problems getting things in and out because of all the stairs and long accessway to the front door.

Actually, VBG, think about this...you could have a scale replica of DS9 for a home...And everything above the middle deck of the Docking Ring would be above-ground, everything below that would be under ground. you'd also have some really cool garden-spaces in there, too!

Install a turbolift to handle the stairs and a small railway train to get you to the door.

:P  B)  :wow:

I had thought about that, right down the center of the silo. Though I'd rather have it on one side rather then the center.

I had also thought about how you could paint the sides of the silo black and put stars on it through out the whole length. Then build an inner wall with windows looking "out" onto the stars.

This is all fantasy of course, but I was also thinking about how you could have the bridge of every major ship on a different level of the silo. If I'm reading the sketch correctly the silo has 10 levels so 5 levels could be for the different ship bridges and 5 levels for different decks or other locations. You could even build a "planet hell" in the very bottom. The kitchen/dining room would be Quarks of course lol

Too bad I didn't have several million dollars and the idea for this when I was 10. I could have had a blast playing in something like that LOL.

It actually would make for a cool Star Trek themed hotel. It could even be rented out as a set for fan films.

Now all I need is $2 or $3 million dollars... does everyone see that little paypal thing in my sig?

All kidding aside, that really would be the perfect house.

The home itself is beautiful and spacious. The land is open and wide and could offer opportunities for expansion and further buildings.

If I had the money to buy it, I'd also buy a Gulfstream Jet and place it on that runaway.

Not sure what I'd use the Silo for, but I'm sure I'd think of something.

In all seriousness, if I had the money I'd do exactly what I said above lol. Though I'd have one level devoted to the Philadelphia Eagles and the NFL in general, that would be my NFL Command center. One level would be all Elvis, which would be my dance studio and one level might be a scale replica of the oval office.

But putting the "fantasy" stuff aside and just taking it as a cool house it would be awesome. So many possibilities with so much room to expand.

As much as i would like to say i'd have fun staying there, i can't. Me, being the paranoid person i am, would be scared half to death from all of the stuff that might be going on on the bottom levels and stuff.. the only way i would have that house is if i had about 5 other people living there ...

When I was still in High School, I had an apartment in my dad's basement. A room for Krissy and I, and one for the kids. We had it set. Microwave, mini-fridge, changing room, and a bathroom down there. I'm used to living somewhat sub-terrainian..

Yah.. well, my basement, you open the door, and ur in this big room, where there is a corner which goes into another room, that has a bedroom beside it and a door that leads to my stairs to go into my garage(never use em nemore) and its scary in those stair wells, because theres a big heavy drop-down door on the top, and a crappy little door at the bottom. and, of course, the light switch is way over on the other side of the room.

Well, from what I recall from HGTV's episode about the Silo Home since they are below ground the tempature stays around 60 degrees at all times. Just add a couple of space heaters to bring the room tempature up a little and it would be perfect.

It really would be a cool vacation home, if not a full time home.

I think I would worry about escape in the event of a fire. ( You couldn't use the 'turbo-lift'...). Living above ground I have lots of windows and doors through which to escape. Of course it is proabably no more dangerous than living in a high-rise....

I prefer bright sun-lit rooms. I do not think I would chose security over looking out and seeing the outside from almost every room.

I'm the opposite, I like it dark in my sleeping quarters. As for the escape route, that is a point but I also live by the philosophy that when it's my time to go, it's my time to go. I believe that the date and circumstances of my demise are already written in the Lambs book of life and nothing that I do will change that so I don't concern myself with it.
