TransporterMalfunction 1 Posted June 21, 2003 During Communist rule in Russia there was a tremendous loss of life. However, was this due to Communism or the dictorial rule of those rulers such as Stalin and Lenin?
Captain Jean-Luc Picard 1 Posted June 21, 2003 I say it's both Communism and the rule of a Dictator.
TrekkieMage 0 Posted June 21, 2003 I agree with Picard, it was a mix, Stalin and Lenin didn't handle the government well. And Communism in such a large country, I don't think just one ruler could handle that...
Abakai2003 0 Posted June 21, 2003 The basic tenants of comunisum are good in principal but unfortunatly it dosn't work and Stalin - lenin where allso very paranoid. and if any of you have read animal farm that is the ulitmate take on what Comunisum is "Every one is Equal. But some are more equal than others" But I digress my answer to the question is that I agree with the others it's a mix

Note - Any point I put across is not based on my own political viewpoint or stand on the matter unless so stated, as certain comments are only intended to provide a basis for discussion. Xeroc 0 Posted June 22, 2003 I believe that was becasue of the rulers, not the priniples of communmisim. Communisim is not by itself evil (I can't say it is the best society either) but no true communisim has ever really existed. Those were all dictatorships pretending to be communists. Captain Jean-Luc Picard 1 Posted June 22, 2003 I just gotta ask: How the heck can you say communism could work and be A OK?
