If you mean Joe Besser, he replaced Shemp after he died. He was heavily pushed by the studio and Moe and Larry were sort of forced to accept him. He only lasted a very short while because he made a lot of demands and refused to do certain bits like getting hit in the face by a pie.

 

If you mean Curley Joe Dorita, he was the last replacement stooge and outlived Moe and Larry by many years. He can be seen in the movies that the Stooges did in the early to mid-1960s when there was a big Stooge revival. I believe he died in a nursing home within the last 10 years.

I forgot Curly Joe, what I meant was Besser.

 

Curly Joe was great, he was a real nice guy and said that being a Stooge was the greatest thing he has done in his life. I believe I read that he died in the 80's
