Travis Mayweather visits his mother and brother on the E.C.S. Horizon, the ship he grew up on.

"Horizon" is a very touching episode that deals with the family. It has some very sensitive moments, especially the scene when Travis discovers that a relative of his dies, don't want to give it away who. But another thing that was interesting is that they reference the TNG Enterprise by Travis and Reed talking together while they eat. Travis talks about how he wishes they would allow families on these ships (and they do on TNG) and Reed mentions that he hopes they also keep a psychologist on board (an obvious reference to Deanna Troi). Overall, a good family episode

**** 1/2 out of *****

3. And a shame too. I wanted a Travis episode so badly since it seems he gets little more than lip service with the storylines (which I'm seeing with Hoshi a bit in season 2 as well.) It seems that they just don't write Mayweather episodes all that well. Maybe not as great a character as we'd hoped. But the storyline wasn't all that impressive. A local lad made good comes home to face the same old problems of his past, both exterior and interior. Just not a terrific episode for me.
