Hmm, I've really only seen the movie and I want to read the books now. from what I saw, my favorite character would be:

 

I'll cheat, because the ones I saw had stuff that made me laugh. Ford Prefect I guess for me, with Marvin a close second, then the Guide just because of the information it had, then farther back Zaphod. Zaphod is only so far back because I didn't quite like the way he was portrayed in the movie. But, he's just a guy (Ha! I included a small quote!)
