"Pilot" Episode Titles for TV Shows

Recommended Posts

I'm seeking some info from you guys. A lot of dramas have their pilot episode called "Pilot". I think this is a little lame. How come they don't have an actual title for the episode?

Example

Roswell 1-01 "Pilot"

Everwood 1-01 "Pilot"

Roswell is a sci-fi/drama while Everwood is just a drama. With that said, how should I label these 2 episodes in my "TV Episode Listing"? I was thinking of just calling the pilot after the show.

Example: Everwood 1-01 "Everwood"

Well, what do you think?

Calling them the name of the series is a good idea.. But even shows thats pilot have a name are still referred to as the pilot episode..

True, it's just that I'd prefer the pilot actually having a name.

Examples:

Star Trek "The Cage" & "Where No Man Has Gone Before"

Star Trek: The Next Generation "Encounter at Farpoint"

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine "Emissary"

Star Trek: Voyager "Caretaker"

Enterprise "Broken Bow"

Stargate SG-1 "Children of the Gods"

Roswell "Pilot"

Everwood "Pilot"

So, go ahead and name my 2 dramas' pilots afer the series? I think that's what I'm gonna do...
