New Tactic by UPN to Stop Letters?

They are trying to stop people from writing! Do not let them ...^

UPN Response to Campaign Writers:

Hello,

Thank you for writing to UPN. The STAR TREK legacy has spanned nearly four decades and has spawned five television series. Ten years ago, STAR TREK: VOYAGER was instrumental in helping launch UPN.

The latest incarnation, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE, has reached the culmination of its journey. This painstaking decision came after it was recognized that despite having many loyal fans like you, the audience for the show was declining steadily. Therefore, ENTERPRISE is set to decommission and will be given a grand send-off on Friday, May 13th at 8 PM ET/PT on UPN.

This does not mean that STAR TREK is gone forever. Paramount, the studio that produced all five television series and ten feature films, is looking forward to the next chapter of the STAR TREK saga.

We know that this information may not make you feel any better but we want you to know how much we appreciate your input and we sincerely hope that you will continue to share your thoughts with us in the future.

Cordially,

UPN

--What is the feeling on set at the moment?

Bombard Sci-Fi Channel

We received some good news from a source that is very reliable, but is going to remain anonymous for now. Apparently the Sci-Fi Channel is considering picking up the show, but wait before you get overly excited and stop reading, they still need alot of encouragement from the fans in way of good ol' fashioned snail mail ...^

Star Trek Enterprise Petition...!

Plea to all members of STARTREKFANS.NET, Sign the Enterprise petition...^

Plea to all members of STARTREKFANS.NET.

In the wake of the recent announcement that Star Trek Enterprise is to be canceled after this season I will be mailing our petition on ______, February __, 2005 to the powers that be in hopes of adding our voice to that of the many other individuals that are trying to flood them with fan feedback in an effort to save the show.

I am asking that we all come together in this effort to have the decision to cancel Enterprise reconsidered and hopefully reversed. I encourage all members of STARTREKFANS.NET to not only sign the petition themselves, if they have not already done so, but to send the link to everyone that they know to have them sign it as well. Any signatures that we can add to the list will help to make our voice that much stronger and it is not required for anyone to be a member of the boards in order to sign.

I am also sending a plea to all of the individuals that were not fans of the show to please sign the petition as well. I completely understand that many of you may be content or even excited to hear that the show has been canceled, but I would like to ask you to add to the voice of those that do really enjoy the show to try to save it for the rest of us. I do ask that if you choose to sign the petition do not add any negative comments as that defeats the purpose of what we are trying to accomplish.

When you sign the petition PLEASE read the instructions listed so that all of the signatures will be valid. For each signature to count it must have at the very least your first name and last initial and an email address for contact. If anyone wishes to sign but does not have an email address that they are willing to use on the petition please feel free to set up a free account with someone like yahoo or hotmail, if you do not feel comfortable doing that then feel free to contact me (ddillard) via PM and I will help with getting an email address set up for you to use on the petition at no cost.

Again I want to thank everyone that has already signed and encourage them to spread the word and get as many people as possible to sign the petition before next week.

Below is a link to the petition and please feel free to pass it on or post it at any other sites that you visit.

Spike TV Rumor?

According to rumors, scifiuniverse.net has gotten, they want to pick up Star Trek Enterprise, but would operate on a low budget of only 13 episodes a season ...^

[However, I would not give much credibility to this particular rumor. ---That is my two-cents, but you never do know...master_q]

A Visit to Enterprise

George Noory recently paid a visit to the set of Star Trek Enterprise to watch a taping of one their final season episodes. Enterprise has had a great run, star Scott Bakula told him. He and George also reminisced about both having lived in the St. Louis area. Scott is checking his schedule to see when he can appear on C2C as a guest. In the meantime, view this signed photo of the Enterprise cast.

MESSAGE FROM PRODUCTION OFFICE...

I just got off the phone with Rick Berman's office regarding the

cancellation.

Rick sends us the following message about keeing ENT in production:

Filming ends beginning of March, but sets will be up until end of

March for reshoots and such -- so hitting now, and hitting hard,

IMMEDIATELY, is the way to go.

What the production office would like to see is this:

1) A gangup on UPN. Paramount's floored that UPN's trying to duck

calls and they're certain UPN knew the calling was going to happen.

2) Approach Paramount TV on the idea that if UPN doesn't reconsider,

the show MUST be shopped out for syndication or cable promptly.

3) Do it NOW.

4) When I mentioned the UPN business and suggested the Viacom calls

instead of or as well, let's just say I didn't hear any rebuttal.

I know, I know, we all hate UPN at this point, but UPN can afford

full production costs for the show. Half-price Trek means the good

old days of TOS mis-sliding doors, the boom mike shadows, and all

that other stuff we don't want to see in new productions, along with

fewer guests and plenty less great Trek SFX. (Maybe fewer sets.

Captain, the Klingons have invaded the Mess Hall again... just like

the Tellarites did last episode...)

The planned events at UPN and Viacom fill the production offices with

cheer. Anyone who can make them or knows anyone who can make them,

be there or tell your friends to make it over there.

But -- be sure to let Paramount TV proper know the money's there from

happy fans if the show is ANYWHERE.

And SEND those Valentines if you haven't -- give 'em some more love

notes.

Protests!

On Monday, February 21, at 8AM protest in front of CBS during morning news broadcast. Then, at noon, congregate at Viacom headquarters on Broadway. At 3PM, protest at headquarters of the Sci-Fi Channel to show support for them to pick the show up.

Enterprisefans.com announced that they will be purchasing a full-page advertisement in the Los Angeles Times to urge someone to pick up the show for a fifth season. The ad will appear in the Feb. 21 edition of the paper in the "A" section.

BBK Campaign Statement:

The Bring Back Kirk campaign expresses disappointment at the cancellation of Enterprise. We felt the show would be a great forum for Kirk's return. The ratings the show would have achieved from such an event would have led to bigger and greater things for Star Trek as a whole. It's a shame to see a show get canceled when the writing team led by Manny Coto and Judith and Gar Reeves Stevens did such a good job trying to finally turn Enterprise into a true prequel. The Save Enterprise campaign has always been friendly to us, and our goals certainly coincided. We support them in their endeavor to save the show.

Star Trek Band

Warp 11 Statement:

We (Warp 11) are as disappointed as every Trek fan is about the cancellation of Enterprise. Still... hang in there guys. Star Trek is too big and has effected too many people all over the world to ever disappear entirely. Sooner or later... it will be back. And if we have anything to say about it, it will be sooner.
