Patrick Stewart to do voice in new animated series

Family Guy creator recently announced Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard) would be giving a command performance in his new animated series, American Dad.

 

"Patrick Stewart is one of the main cast members of American Dad: he plays the head of the CIA," McFarlane announced in an interview with Planet Family Guy. "We're getting a lot of use out of him, he's one of our favourites."

 

Scheduled to premiere in 2005, American Dad is a political comedy which follows the life of Stan Smith, a regular joe who works at CIA and will stop at nothing to protect his beloved country and family from harm. McFarlane, a Star Trek fan who played an engineer in "The Forgotten", will voice Stan, with Wendy Schaal (Charlene in Voyager's "Real Life") playing the voice of his wife, Francine Smith.

 

Although Star Trek: Nemesis was the last official outing for the Next Generation crew, Stewart hasn't hung up his Starfleet uniform just yet. McFarlane announced that Stewart and Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) will be appearing in an upcoming episode of Family Guy's fourth season. "[They] did a cutaway gag for us where they played Captain Picard and Counselor Troi, which was pretty fun," he said.

That is fantastic news, I like McFarlane and the new show featuring Stewart will most likely be good but I'm more stoked about the return of Family Guy! Now if tptb would bring back Futurama I could die happy.
