~ Soup ~

Recommended Posts

post-897-1101912669.jpgEspecially with a nice piece of home-made bread and butter. :nono: Soup is so good for you because it's so "WET" :nono: Yep  In the winter we sweat alot under heavy clothes and we get dehydrated alot. Ever notice that? So soup gives us more water in our bodies.

I think there are alot of, or well, a few secrets to making good soup. And NOT from a can either. post-897-1101912700.jpg :o :o

Got any really good ideas about "Soup"? Share them in this thread, ok? :o

Or any really good recipes??? :nono:

EWWW, look what I found. This is incredible. Really

'Pasta E Fagioli'

2-tbsp olive oil

3 bacon strips, chopped

1-cup sliced carrots

1-cup chopped onions

1/2-cup chopped celery

1-1/2-tsp minced garlic

6-cups chicken broth, or stock

2-540ml cans of white kidney beans, drained

1-1/2-cups ditali pasta

Salt and pepper to taste

Heat olive oil in large saucepan

Add bacon, carrots, onions, celery, and garlic

Sauté until onion is tender

Add broth, cover and bring to a boil: simmer 10 minutes

Meanwhile, in a food processor or blender, puree one can of the beans

Add bean puree, whole beans, and pasta to broth mixture

Bring to a boil and cook; stirring occasionally until pasta is done

Season with salt and pepper

Makes 6-8 servings

I love soup all the time. I love wantan soup (hold the wantans) and that Roman noodle soup that costs 25 cents a bag. Delish.

NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!!

I love homemade soup! I didn't get to make my turkey soup with my leftovers this year... too much work, not enough cooking time.

There's nothing better than the gratification of watching soup simmer for 3 hours and finally being able to eat it!

I'd offer a recipe, but I'm one of those cooks who eyeballs everything. :nono:
