~ Photons, Frequency and Color ~

Recommended Posts

The Sun and stars are balls of ionized gas. The hotter the star, the more

energetic will be the motions of the free electrons and protons, and the greater

the energy of the photons they emit. The greater the photon energy, the higher

the photon frequency, and the bluer the photon will appear. The lower the thermal

energy of the gas, the less energetic the charged particles, and the redder (lower

frequency) the photons will appear.

you are correct. The hotter stars are blue. Our sun is relatively cool.
