TrekkieMage 0 Posted July 29, 2004 I drive one of the hybrid electric/gasoline engine cars..........the 2004 Toyota Prius. :) Awesome! Those are the best out there in my opinion! 50/50 engine. Not the joke of a electirc assist they're trying to pass off as hybrid in the new pick-ups and SUV's... Here's a comparison of the 2004 Prius to the new 'hybrid': GM Comparison of Prius and Silverado Hybrids Not much of a comparison is it. I thought the whole point of the hybrid concept was to get better mileage and be kinder to the environment. the Chevy truck that you've pointed out has such poor mileage that I don't see why anyone who want to buy it, as a hybrid. I understand that the Honda civic hybrid also gets good mileage Yeah...Personally I think it's all just a big marketing ploy and their hoping that no one cares about the actual MPG. My dad has the Civic hybrid, and it's getting around 50 mpg at the moment. We have fun watching the mpg skyrocket to 120 in the car.... :)

Yillara Skye 1 Posted June 5, 2005 Until March 19, 2004 I drove a 1988 Mercury Tracer, but that was destroyed in the car crash I was involved in I loved that car. (I was the middle car in a 3 car pile up, only part of the car that did not sustain much structural damage was right where I was sitting... though I was sent to the hospital in a neck brace and on a backboard, and had to use a cane and/or a wheelchair to get around for almost 2 months afterward.) Now I have a 1993 Ford Escort LX, I love that car though I will forever miss my Tracer(which was also my first car). And as bad luck would have it, I do not have a front bumper on it right now because some idiot backed into my car while we were waiting at a stop light.... at the very same intersection where the other crash occured. So right now it is a maroon car with a little bit of grey duct tape holding whats left of the bumper, until I can get a replacement one.

Eratosthenes 0 Posted June 10, 2005 All those cars and you use the oldest one (excluding the '71) as your main vehicle?! I guess you're getting the most that you can out of your older ones first!
