Theunicornhunter 2 Posted June 19, 2004 I read about not posting links to other star trek boards in your signature but then I hear people say we can't post a link to any external site? If I post an article like a news event etc I don't want to copy and paste the whole thing so I post part of it and add the link, it's also a way to give a reference for the work you are quoting (not that I know the proper etiquette for quoting other sites?) Please feel to enlighten me. So what is the official policy on linking to an article of interest?
A l t e r E g o 9 Posted June 19, 2004 Don't worry about it UH, the rule address only permanent links to other Trek message boards in sigs or shameless plugs for same sites in off-topic ways. Any link to a source of information for purposes of proving or providing additional info on topic is allowed but may be subject to Admins approval in case of link being used as a loophole (fraud) around the no links rule. Your links have never been a problem TUH. ALL of the fallout over that rule amendment has dropped to zero (great bunch here) so I'll close this now to prevent a flare-up. Answers to questions regarding the no links to Trek Message Board Rules can be found in the Guardian forum. If necessary, additional information on this topic may be requested from the Staff member of your choice via PM.
