I mean I'm not afraid of needles just afraid of IV's they hurt like hell. I need some advise. What to calm myself and how to prepare myself for the things coming next. BakulaBabe 2 Posted May 31, 2004 Aloe Vera gel is very good. Also, if you put witch hazel (a very mild astringet) in a spray bottle & spray it on the burn, it'll cool it almost instantly. Gold Bond powder is good, too, but it can be kinda messy. Wish I could have had some advice for your surgery. How did it go? (Sorry about the edit - it posted before I was done.
