New Blaster-like Worm Is Out In The World!

Just yesterday a new virus that is shown as asverse.exe was released out into the world, this virus (known technically as a sasser virus) acts similar to but more advanced then the blaster worm we all met earlier in the year. Here are 2 websites that you MUST go to so as to cure/prevent this from affecting you (i know cause i was one of the first victims last night, but i'm safe now):

To check to see if you computer is effected there are a few tell tell signs.

 

If you are seeing an LSA Shell (Export Version) Error box shown below then your computer is infected.

 

 

 

Also another way to tell is to check your process list for avserve2.exe or any process with a name consisting of four or five digits, followed by _up.exe (for example 74354_up.exe)

 

Microsoft now has updates that are available at the Windows update site that will protect you computer from this virus.
