The battle to save the Earth will be fought on the sun. Led of course by Charlton Heston <_< The special effects were excellent. I just saw this movie.

 

The crew of the Helios are on a crirical mission to change the course of an impending solar flare that will incinerate Earth. An anti-matter bomb is carried by a space probe that is to be shot into the heart of the sun. Which will divert the flare away from Earth. But, of couse, there is a traitor in the mix. Good movie. :P

Sounds very improbable. Makes for good fiction, but I doubt it is very factual. Anyone going anywhere near the sun gets incinerated by the extreme temps I doubt there is anything capable of shielding those temps
