VaBeachGuy 12 Posted April 4, 2004 This question is mainly for the European members here. Today starts the season for NFL Europe. This is about their 12th or 13th season in Europe I believe, I'm not exactly sure. This season the NFL Network will be airing the NFL Europe games so I'll get to see at least a few games, which will be the first ones I've ever seen from that league since it's first season. My question is this, how well received has the NFL Europe been? Is it growing in popularity? Is it a novelty? Just how popular does it seem? The crowd at the game I am watching right now looks to be about the amount of people that show up for a pre-season game here in the United States, which is about 2 thirds of what would be at a regular season game. But they seem enthusiastic and vocal about what's happening on the field.

VaBeachGuy 12 Posted April 4, 2004 Yeah it's been there since about 1990 or 1991. They started off as the World League of American Football (WLAF) but changed their name to NFL Europe in 1998.
