  1. Achievement

As is the case for intelligence, achievement (both academic and other kinds) in only and first-born children appears to be slightly greater than for later-born children. To explain this phenomenon, theorists have considered the specific relationship between parents and children. Presumably, achievement motivation originates in the high standards for mature behavior that parents impose on their only and first-born children.

I agree with that, I only have one child and forget sometimes that she is only four. Even my Mum tells me i can be too strict on her !!, i guess from the day i brought her home from the hospital i just wanted her to grow up being the best she can be in whatever she chooses to do. I need to relax sometimes and let her be a four year old.

  2. I love to watch cartoons with my daughter, we are both into The Wild Thornberry's, The Simpsons, Fairly Odd Parents, Rug Rats.

Oh God there are so many...!!!!, I can also be found watching these when my little Klingon is not home... :blush 2:

  3. Well the first person I became friends with was Dill (He helped me out one day when I found something i found disturbing around the first week I was here)

It's a pity I am no ones first friend, I would have appreciated that. At times I wonder if I am anyones friend here.

  4. In Sarah Moran's book " Alien Art " she has a chapter on The cliff dwelling Native Americans called the Anasazi, she writes....

Traditional Native American beliefs as to the origin of there customs focus on the ancient civilization which worship the sun and many of the tribal stories handed down through generations talk of "star people " who came to earth bringing great wisdom with them, there are also records telling of early crop circles and the Anasazi belived these where the work of the " star people "

Nearly every tribe tells stories of '' sky ropes " that enabled these visitors to travel from there home planet to earth.

  5. I am very much a rat - pack and what my sister calls " a dumper " i collect stuff all the time and can never find places to put them, so i dump them on the fridge, table or microwave.....

I also do really stupid stuff like go through all my clothing and take what i dont want to the op-shop...but then while im there i will by stuff and bring it home :(

  6. I watched a very interesting show on TV the other night about Crop Circles, it blew me away to say the least.

I have read a bit about them but have never seen actual footage of them,

some people that i have spoken to about them say that they are man made

( why do so many people fear what they dont understand ?)

but im convinced that no human beings could get something that big, so symetricaly perfect and produce them over night.

There where alot of crop circle experts from around the world being interviewed and most of them stated the same experiences of feeling light headed or experiancing servear head aches when in the middle of the circle. they also said that there are some forms of electrical currents that surround the outside of the circle and mobile phones and other such divices do not work when you stand near them and when you fly over the top of the sites, eveything electrical in the air craft will stop working for a few seconds.

They also say that there have been a few sightings of five or six small balls of light swooping around wheat fields during the night and people wake in the morning to find these amazing patterns.

What do you think about them...are they real...is someone trying to communicate with us or do some people have very clever neighbours.

  7. My sister and i are the only ones in our family of six children who like star trek. My husband thinks im a nerd and my mates and my other relations just roll there eyes at me, like the other day when i recived my star trek watch ( it plays the theme tune...its so cool ) that i bought on e-bay, mum and dad both said....oh...good grief and gave me a strange look.

But thats ok, my four year old daughter does the vulcan sign and quotes " live long and prosper " and im slowly getting her into watching it with me.

The other day we were in the video shop and she came running up to me doing the vulcan sign, yelling mummy...look what i found and i am very pleased to say that is was the Trekkies dvd.

But i dont care what people think of my love for star trek, its my way of escaping the every day life and escaping into the arms of Captain Jean luc Picard.. :wow::wow:
