  1. Are we going to have another flopper?

    I hope not.

So join us in 15 minutes!

Please help me promote this chat.

Bug your Star Trek Internet buddies to come to the Saturday chat. Post messages about it. Put something in your signature, perhaps. Tell other Internet communities about it (but do it in a way that would not violate their rules concerning advertisements / spam). If you have other ideas, great. Do them and please share. If you have ideas to improve the chat, also please share.

Secondly, remember that these chats sometimes last for hours. So if you know you cannot make it at 6PM ET but at 7 or 8 then stop by because people might still be there.

  2. Saturday, March 24

    Free-For-All and

    Phaserman! (a.k.a. vaporizeman, a.k.a. hangman)

Instructions: Send master_q by PM a Star Trek related name, title, phrase or whatnot. It must be greater then or equal to 9 letters, but less then or equal to 25 letters. (It does not need to be only one word, but the total of letters must still equal the requirement given.)

Example: Say someone submits this to master_q (before the chat by PM!):

    The Best of Both Worlds

This meets the letter count requirement. It is also Star Trek related.

It would be turned into this during the game:

    _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ / _ _ / _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ _

    Rules during game:

    • In an ordered fashion, participants in the chat room will take turns guessing letters one-at-a-time.

    • During one's turn at guessing, he (or she) can either try to solve the puzzle or guess a letter. But not both.

    • If one decides to solve the puzzle and fails, then this person will lose his turn next time around. (Even if that next time is during another puzzle.)

    • Incorrectly guessed letters will result in the step-by-step construction of a phaser. This full process only takes eight steps.

    • If this happens (i.e., the participants fail miserably), the phaser will then be used to phaser some unfortunate guinea pig (or some unruly chat room participant that master_q does not like ----- don't worry it is only on stun).

  4. Happy Pi Day everyone!

    http://www.piday.org/index.php

Pi, Greek letter (pi), is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. It is approximately 22/7 and is usually calculated to 3 digits, 3.14. With the use of computers, Pi has been calculated to over 1 trillion digits past the decimal. Pi is an irrational number meaning it will continue infinitely without repeating. The symbol for pi, pi, was first used in 1737 by William Jones, but was popular after it was adopted by the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler in 1737.

  5. Does it matter if it's hard or easy trivia? Cuz' I don't really like hard trivia and don't know any, but I would be willing to provide some nice easy trivia that everyone will know.

My apologies for not replying sooner, VL: Yes, your question can be "easy." One question per customer, please.

Save your other Star Trek trivia questions for the future. We will probably do this again once in a while.

Keep those PMs coming! Only have two.

  7. Yes, let's start a new topic

I have "bi" in the title because originally we were deciding if it should be every week or every other week

but we have decided that it is every week

Request: Alterego, could you please edit the bi out? Thank you.

(I will still start a new topic, though.)
