  1. At the last Expo I went to the security was real life plain security . . . I liked it when the Kilngons were security! My hubby was a RL armed security guard and he would make a good Klingon looks wise but he is such a teddy bear (hince his nick name Pooky) and a Oliver Hardy look alike . . .

  2. I say we have a candidate for the Darwin Award . . . ROFLMAO!!!!

Um, Why did Steve's shirt look like Charlie Brown's in a few of the strips?

    Ahem . . . lost myself for a moment there . . .

  3. Take into account, ladies and gentlemen, that they weren't prepared to go through what they did to end up where they ended up and that they would lose the CMO and other medical personnel - the EMH, was a prototype, and that having to rely on the program almost exclusively would allow wear and tear to take its toll. It wasn't expected to have to access that often, and being a large and complex program, it was possibly decided to use computer memory for other, higher priority systems. This was only to be a Mission to the Badlands - not a extended voyage in little known space.

  4. Any ship that Spock was on  . . . :blush 2: (So my hubby has the body of a Tellerite too . . . he'd make a great Klingon if he didn't look so muck like Oliver Hardy) Any of the Constitution class . . .

How about the Eagle 5? (You should know what I've been watching . . .)

    I'll take "Y-wing" Alex for $200 . . .

  5. *snip*

At one time I had all the Bond novels written by Ian Fleming, Kingsley Amos, John Gardner and Raymond Benson. Of them all I have only kept the Raymond Benson novels. I really enjoy reading them as they are top notch thrillers and quick reads. Each novel he wrote he got better and better as a storyteller and writer. They probably keep more to the spirit of the movies and have a movie feel to them but it does not detract from the stories at all. Gardener also wrote some exceptional stories.

The one thing I would say about Bond books is that the real James Bond character is much darker than the movies have portrayed him, with the exception of the two Timothy Dalton films and the latest Casino Royale. If torture scenes make you squeamish you probably should best avoid most of the books because it seems Bond is always getting tortured.

BTW...here is a cool website that reviews the various Bond novels:

    I agree with you about my uncle's books . . .

  6. more . . .

you correct some one when they say, "That's the show with Dr. Spock . . ."

you have a ST:TOS shuttlecraft holding your CDs for the computer . . .

you name your car 'sashear' (Kelvan name) . . .

you post ST bumper stickers all over the back of your bedroom door (hubby loves this  and I don't want to stick them to the car to ruin - I used double-faced tape or I rotate them on the dash to be seen through the window)

you get riled when you give some one the Vulcan salute (and they are old enough to remember Mork) and they respond with 'nannoo, nannoo' . . .

  7. I have several scenes . . .

The scene when Picard learns he does have a vendetta against the Borg . . .

and for something completely different (since I do love watching spoof movies (Airplane!, Naked Gun series, etc. . . .))

When the entity wants all to bow down and Kirk pipes up, "Excuse me!" . . . Kirk and his big mouth . . . and the scene afterwards when he finds Spock is the sharpshooter! :yahoo: :P (ST V)

When Sarek admits "My logic falters where my son is concerned" (ST III)

    :bag:

  8. Security personnel were outfitted in red . . . they would normally be "wearers of a target, and I quote, 'on their behind (edited for profanity)', end quote."

But what is revealed is the numerous other 'colored' shirts that died en masse on outposts, on board ship, and during other unfortunate mishaps.

All who die in the line of duty should be honored. :)
