  1. Well I am taking my leave of you. I want to thank you all for having me on this good site. I have been a fan for many years and stuck by it good and bad. Its been fun. Where I am going? I am moving to another state to work in a new job that will mean I no longer have time to tend my own site, nor post. So I'd like to say my goodbyes and fade int the sunset. ;) I may stop in sometime and will miss you all.

  2. Our son (at college) has every novel for every series that was printed up to a year or so ago (that's when we stopped collecting every one of them.) I'll send him a message asking if he has the time and cares to, to go through them and collect as much info regarding your topic as he pleases.

Hello Tattoo. I've gotten a reply back on your request for novel stardates, he apologizes fro not having time enough to go through every novel and take down the requested info but he does send a link he claims will help a lot with your search...

I hope that helps a little.

  3. Roddenberry Trek - TOS, TNG, Movies 1-5

    2 people sitting up front.

All series regulars are Starfleet (with the exception of Wesley)

The Enterprise is backed up by Starfleet.

Captain / First Officer = Male / Male

Berman Trek - DS9, VOY, ENT, Movies 6-10

    1 person sitting up front.

Series regulars allways include at least 2 aliens.

Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and NX-01 Enterprise have to do what they can on their own.

Captain / First Officer = Male / Female or Female / Male

Interresting, eh?  Can you think of any other noticable differences?

The characters are all simular to each other i.e Odo looking for his people, Data looking for Humanity. Also note that all the shows have at least one main character that was black TOS, DS9 (Up to season 4), VOY. TNG had three Gunian, Worf, Geordi La Forge.

  4. The bottom of the saucer section only has 4 phaser strips to my knowledge, maybe 6.  The forward quantum torpedoe launcher and captain's yacht appear to be the front of the engineering section.  Oh, as for Voyager, there is not a single angle I can think of where the saucer looks like it could detatch.

Here's a pic of the front of the engineering section:

    ente.jpg

Its the design. See the window the is towrds the from of the underside? it is toofar in the middle. The back of the ship has to have a impulse engine on the spin of the ship. How do you think why the oth sausar and stardrive had of Enterprise-D have one. Yet the Enterprise-E only has it on the saucer? As I said it could be the design of the ship. As others have said above the saucer can be used as an escape pod. But the reason olkders can is because The Consiution class never really had them. This ship does sperate. I know the guy who came up with the specs of the ship. Also note that in later movies a second shuttle bay appeared. So wouldn't there be a shuttle bay on the saucer?

  5. The yellow thing, I'm assuming to be the quantum torpedoe launcher, would be the front of the engineering hull, if seperated.

Nope, I scanned it from my files I recived from a friend that lives in Europe. The page I scanned it from is a section about the Enterprise-E, it was designed and co-wrote by the people who brought you Star Trek. The yellow thing is a torpetoe launcher seen in First Contact. Its the page that shows the weapons, like for example that picture also shows the pahser strip in red. If you look at Voyager from its side it looks like it can also. Even by picture under my name came from the same place.

  6. Captain if you look at the Enterprise-D you will note that it is no V nore of a C. Note the top of the V its the small Captains Yahat? The E-D could because its a large vessel carring families. The E-E has no families aboard. Not all ships would have the same capablity.

  7. Well, in theory, the Constitution-class can seperate, using the saucer as an emergency escape vehicle versus escape pods.  However, the stardrive section can be reconnected to the saucer in spacedock.

As for Voyager, I agree, it's a small, solid ship.  As for the Enterprise-E, why couldn't it seperate, eh?  John Eaves had designed the ship to be capable of saucer seperation in case a future movie had called for such an act.  You can clearly see a v-shape seperation line where the engineering hull meets the saucer, making the quantum torpedoe launcher and captain's yacht the front of the battle section.

I tried to find a pic online, but had no luck.  The designer, John Eaves, designed the ship to be "capable" of saucer seperation, but we may never find out.  I allways assumed that if the Enterprise-E could saucer seperate, it would be more of a tactical strength since the battle section has no impulse engine, or possibly in the way of the Constitution-class, jettisonning the stardrive section and flying off to safety.

I'll have look at the ship again but I dought it. Heck I will even post a picture for you.

  8. Nope no ships, only the one you have meantioned. The Consitution cn but cannot reconnect. Before anyone says it Voyager cannot nor E-E, they are called lines for the bulkheads on the ship, all the ships have them.

  9. If there's a draft, well, I'd be very angry.  If they made it manditory, I'd leave the country and not return.

OK, I over reacted, but if it became "mandatory", well, they can't force you to be in the military. What's next, security cameras in our homes?

They can force you to be in the military if the draft is reinstated. If the draft is in effect and you are drafted and you refuse to serve you will be jailed. The draft gives the governement the right to insure that the number of military personel needed to protect our freedom is available.

Myself I would have loved to be able to serve my country in the military, but unfortunately I am denied military service due to my eyesight.

Very true. Captain the Military is great.
