  1. you believe that the newer breed of Trekfan are the "truest and most loyal" fans?! How dare you? That is one of the most arrogant statements I have read on this message board (with no basis in truth BTW). You newbies should get your Trek history straight before you start insulting the older who went to the mat with a massive letter writting campaign to save Trek from cancellation. We were obsessive enough to create the first Trek Conventions. We campaigned for the first NASA space shuttle to be named "Enterprise" as well as lobbied for the first Star Trek film. I for one call that true and loyal. What have you guys really done?

As for your question. You absolutly should watch TOS. Not all the episodes are great but you can say that about all of the other shows. Pay attention to the stories and character interaction more than what it looks like. Remember it was a product and reflection of it's time. When I was younger whenever i found something i liked, tv shows, music, books, movies etc. I tried to find out what their past influences were and what initially influenced that and so on going back as far as i could go. My world opened up to new wonders and experiences that i never would have had otherwise. Because i had an open mind and was willing to give new a AND OLD things a try i have become a better more well rounded person. In the TNG episode "Relics" geordie says 'Just because something is old doesn't mean you throw it away."

BTW i did read your profile information/ intrests and that's why i am shocked that someone with vaired intrests and intelligance should begin your post with such an insulting statement. I noticed you neglected to mention your birthday. I wonder why?

  2. As much as I love TNG, The original Enterprise going down still seriously makes me cry. :dude:

Kirk: My God, Bones, what have I done?

McCoy: What you had to do. What you always do. Turned death into a fighting chance to live.

    The Search for Spock

I'm glad Kirk was able to take some of those Klingon bastards with it. It did go down with honor. Long live the ENTERPRISE! :)

  3. I saw that on the news last night. The funny thing is that it was felt here in Towson, Maryland. They interviewed a guy who lives a few blocks away from me and he said he could feel his house shake. He knew it was an earthquake because he experienced them in hawaii. I didn't feel anything . wierd wild stuff.

  4. O.K. YES!!! They suck me in everyonce in a while. I'm not a poser that tries to present themselves as above temptation. The Arby's Itallian Provolones are great, Mcdonalds is by far the best. (Fish sandwich), Taco Bell burrito grande sends me. Subeway...i'd eat there every day. I eat fast food and i love it!!! I don't want my last meal to be jello. :dude:

  5. I just finished the first "Errand Of Vengance" and liked the idea of the klingon infiltrator. A good read.

I am starting "Vulcan's Forge" and have also just started Laura Lippman's "In a strange city" a mystery about Baltimore (Where i live) and the Edgar Allen Poe "Toaster" (good for Halloween).

  6. Like James Doohan once said "It's Got some kind of magic"

It's one of the few shows that dosen't wallow in the usuall muck and mire of most television themes. it was positive, hopeful and dare i say it.....moral. It's about how we should treat each other and our world. And it just made me feel good.

  7. "Sisko and Son"

Benjaman and Jake Convert DS9 into a junk yard.

    "I love Data"

Data marries a Cuban band leader

    "The Odd Couple"

Spock and McCoy Share an Apartment.

    :)

Ok,Ok.... Lets see you guys do better.

  8. SpaceHippie, Riker had a relationship with the asexual alien becuase it had feminine quallities.  Crusher had the relationship with the Trill till it was placed within a woman, despite her love for the Trill, Crusher ended the relationship because of the female host at the end.

How sad you are. What do you have against gay people? Why do you see it as a threat to you personally?

I too would stop watching if there was a gay character. I, and others, have nothing against gay people, it's the act of homosexuallity people strongly disagree with. Who said it was a threat? It's just plain gross, that's all.

Did you read the post that i was replying to? You have just repeated my post in different words. My point was that other than Crusher and Riker no other other character was involved in a same sex relationship as the previous poster claimed. Where was i wrong?

How is it any less or more "gross" than what heterosexual people physically do to each other? Or is it just "mentaly gross'' to you? I bet there are a lot of males on this site who have no problem with lesbian sex but would not tollerate male gay sex... hipocrites.

  10. I haven't voted as they have all had some kind of relationship with the opposite sex,if there was a "None of them" vote then I think most people here would vote on that one.

What show have you been watching? Riker had a fling with an asexual alien and Crusher with a trill. None of the others crew had any relations with the "same sex".
