I disagree with the take on J/C...All the rules change when you're stranded on the other side of the galaxy. Once J found out that M wasn't waiting for her, J should have sought out C rather than the hologram in fairhaven. Anyway, has anyone thought about the D/S connection? The doc was hard in love with her...he showed it MANY times, and if he had the holographic brass ones he could have stolen her from C in a heartbeat...and let J/C be a reality!

I personally think a great villain for the movie would be Rogue Jem-Hadar. Imagine a jem'Hadar strain was created that didn't rely on ketracel-white. Soon enough you're gonna have a bunch of Rogue Jem'Hadar who didn't agree with the surrender order attacking alliance ships without any official response from the Dominion as a government.

I just went to your site and applied...let's see what happens when you get a professional sci-fi/fantasy author in the mix :blink:I recieved your application and I've replied. Thank you for joining.
I've been on board for less than two weeks and already love it! For those that join, I run the executive officer character on MB1, who also serves as Fighter Wing Commander, Fleet Captain Alysa Anne Sinclair. Join up so you can see our posts and become part of one of the greatest stories ever told about a starfleet crew and their adventures in neutral space!

I chose the doctor because he is much more of a full character and well-rounded. he also captures some of Data's "more than the sum of my parts" attitude, which star trek despirately needs at any junction. Lastly the only reason seven of nine was cast was to add sex appeal to the crew...as far as i'm concerned, Kes could have stayed on until season 7...

Ol Entil'Zha has spent way too much money on his DVD collection...
7 seasons TNG
7 seasons DS9
7 seasons VOY
5 seasons macgyver
5 seasons news radio
7 seasons the west wing
9 seasons SG1
2 seasons Atlantis
7 seasons Buffy the vampire slayer
2 seasons House MD
and there's more...this is the culmination of a ton of overtime as a Domino's Pizza manager and a healthy love of episodic television at it's finest :P

Data dying did blow, but I remember reading an article of an interview with Brent Spiner saying that he wasn't interested in playing Data anymore...I do like what they did with B4, leaving a loophole in canon history for the script writers to work with in bringing him back.

This is scary...what's even scarier is that the lawyer thinks that the advice can even be categorized as "bad"...this whole thing is just bunk... I would sentence him to 18 years hard time no parole, and have his good time/work time bonus sent to his ex girlfriend to help support his child.
I despise, loathe and hate dead-beat dads...and this kid makes all of them look like heroes! I hate being this angry...calming...argh...

I did it before I made it out of the cadet stage :P it feels good to lend a hand...the more of my books people buy, the more i'll donate here too lol... How do you go about getting that gold pressed latinum bar below your name?
When you donate to the site, VGB puts the gold pressed latinum bar by your name.
So I just need to wait for our loyal commanding officer to catch up and latinum me up

When I was a kid, I made my own battle-damaged Constellation. I read where in the series, they just used a lighter on an Enterprise model to create the damage so I did the same thing and it turned out great. I still have it today.
OMG I did the same thing! I created a battle scene with an NCC-1701 model with lighter battle damage chasing a model of a miranda-class light cruiser. I even melted the port nacelle pylon off with a lighter and used a soldering tip to simulate 23rd century pulse phaser scorch damage.

I've been playing this on my DS since the day it was released...also played with 3 other players (friend and lil brother) via head-to-head mode on skirmish, battle-fest and co-op campaign...if anyone's interested in a walk through and tip sheet, lemme know!

I don't care if it's good...I don't care if it blows goats...i'll see it to support my franchise and to let Paramount know that we still care... i'll be right there with you 1st in line, my friend!

I read about this in an issue of Scientific American...I'd love to get my hands on one of these and see what was growing in my dad's fridge... :P

There is lots of coverage of many species in trek and fanfic, but little work has been done in the crossover fantasy zones that jump into other series and back...for those who have questions and need some guidance/answers about the Interstellar Alliance and Minbari Federation from Babylon 5, I stand ready to assist you as the Minbari/ISA volunteer ambassador.
It should be known that the Minbari Federation, though once at war with Earth, are a valuable ally and co-founder of the ISA, who shares many ideals for peace and freedom with the United Federation of Planets...
The next time the Breen attack Earth or the Jem'Hadar set foot on Betazed and the 9th starfleet is already below capacity, call the ISA... Excalibur and two-hundred White-Star Class light cruisers could jump out of hyperspace and maybe, just maybe, even the odds a little :P

I have to meditate to survive...my life is pathetically busy with minutia and constantly doing 30 things, all of them annoying... Meditation helps me forget all that and get writing done, much less post on here which I am finding more therapeutic the more I do it.

I think we're all missing the point...
Star trek is a culmination of one man's dream, much like Data, a dream of a unified community of people with similar minds and goals, to create the peace, not force the peace.
Star trek is much like our own US constitution, it was designed to change, to adapt and serve a new purpose for each succeeding generation that was honored enough to be able to enjoy a new episode bi-weekly in prime time like I was when i was younger.
Star trek, as well as all Scifi, are a reflection of our time, telling present-day stories and conflicted ideals in a new way, a way that will give the dreamers and shapers among us a new way of looking at the problems we face every day.
In TOS it was hippies and klingons, and the enemy of the day was conformity and communism. Look at the themes of the day, it's all there...
In TNG it was Borg and later in season 4+, the various races along the Federation borders with Cardassia, Bajor, and Romulan space. The Enterprise had to play diplomat and policeman for hundreds of worlds in these sectors between DS4 and DS9, does that remind you of anything that the US was doing in the late 80s and early 90s?
In DS9 there was Cardassia and the Dominion, with Bajor playing a major stabilizing role in the show. At the same time as DS9 was going on we were fighting in desert storm and shield, going to war over oil and money, and in general it was the beginning of a very dark time for the USA and it's allies, the same kind of dark atmosphere that spread into DS9's scrypting. I'm not complaining, as it was my favorite of the series, but it did show that the Federation isn't perfect and there's a lot to show for an organization that condemns the usage of agencies like the obsidian order and tal shiar while employing men like Luther Sloan in the beginning.
I could go on but I don't need to...Science Fiction is a reflection of the times we live in, and that may be why Enterprise failed and Nemesis kind of blew goats, because it didn't embody a struggle we're facing today, but just tried to tell a story for the sake of creating more cannon and making a quick buck...unfortunately they were stories that few if any of us could relate to.
Just my $0.02

I think very few of the above scripts were thought out all that well...here's my rundown, see if you agree with me :P
Movies: I agree that Shinzon was a maniacal goob, but no one seems to keep their eye on the most evil of them all, Dr. Tolian Soren, who was willing to (successfully in god-knows-how-many-timelines) kill billions to get back into the Nexus.
As to the series, I believe Dukat and Seska are equal runners-up...(their children could have hooves their so evil).

James Doohan is truly a sad, sad loss, a true global treasure. My mother went to a star trek convention some years before I was born and spent hours in line waiting for an autograph from William Shatner, only to be scared off when he went on some lunatic bull wrap about "do you support my cause? What will you do to save the whales?", my mother replied politely "i'm just a loyal fan" and before she could get her autograph signed he screamed at her that he didn't have time to deal with children like her who didn't believe in his purpose in life and to get out of line.
She ran off crying, James Doohan and Deforest Kelley in hot pursuit, trying to bring her back to get an autograph and spend some time with the less insane members of the cast. Despite their best efforts they couldn't catch up to her as she sped off to who-knows-where out of embarrassment at shatner's comments.
Doohan and Kelley didn't have to get up and chase her, but they did. They risked pissing off a long line of fans in a hot auditorium, a line that wasn't getting any shorter or more patient, to rescue a young woman and make sure she went home with a happy memory.
Thank you James and Deforest...through her stories of that day, your efforts have shown me how to care for each and every fan once my career as an author takes off.
James Doohan was a good man and he took a small piece of my heart with him when he passed beyond the veil...my love to his family...please continue the legacy of kindness and compassion he stood for.
You're right...I like this pic more...and I think James would have as well.
I prefer this pic of Jimmy. From Generations, his last film appearance as Capt. Scott:
A MUCH better pic!
I used to have countless others on my old computer.
This was the best that I have on my new one.

I was wondering if my signature images are all-right... I created them myself and designed them to be quick-loading with minimum frames and the line is actually broken up into three pictures distinctly, so it shouldn't mess with the viewing pleasures of anyone reading a post unless they're on my PDA with a 320x480 screen, and then only if it's in portrait mode instead of landscape :P
If anyone...Anyone...sees any problems with load time or size, please just let me know and i'll make it my first priority to fix it.
Thanks in advance!
Constitution-class refit
in Star Trek
Posted
I hope I can shed some light on this little debacle :) Anyway, the original Constitution-Class was slated as a light cruiser in the original technical manual, what we consider a dreadnaught being commissioned off the same design as a heavy cruiser.
The designation for the refit was actually referred to by several starfleet engineers as a "Constitution Class Heavy Cruiser" or at most a "refit". The changes aren't that extensive when you compare Wil Decker's Enterprise to Kirk's original...slap on a fresh coat of paint and replace the nacelle struts with something a little less hokey and there you have it...
They should call it "Constitution-Class Advanced" just to shut up the critics out there, it can be confusing, but it's starfleet and sometimes the SCE just can't make up their mind
