  1. They are actually going to change the song for the next season. I doubt its what you heard, but they are going to make it more Star Trek, while maintaing the overall theme of exploration they were going for on Enterprise.

I felt a spoiler tag would have been useless, since what else would I have talked about other then a change in the theme.

  2. This needs to be like Morn on DS9. He never talks, but everone complains that he would never shut up.

I think we should never see the chef, but I think they need to start giving him personality traits. Make it seem like theres a guy wondering the corridors, not some guy looked up in the galley.

We did get a look at chef in 'Catwalk', but they didn't show his face.

  3. I belive that this would explain how Starfleet will be able to fight the Romulans. Think about it.

    Click for Spoiler:

The Xindi attack Earth. So Starfleet upgrades Enterprise and sends it into the Delphic Expanse to stop the current threat. Meanwhile, back on Earth, new NX-Class ships would be given the same upgrades in their original construction. They would also be mass produced, pumping out dozens a year. A few years down the road, the Earth-Romulan War begins, but Starfleet is now combat ready because of the Xindi conflict. A fleet of NXs would be able to fight the Romulans.

    Just a thought.

  4. They actually mentioned androians once on DS9. Bashirs rival thought he was andorian because a friend pointed to him, but she thought the friend was pointing to a andorian, who was next to Bashir. There still there, they just didn't see a reason to have them.

  5. I think the problem is that the Borg didn't have a reason then. They had no reason to travel over 20,000 light years from there space to find more people to assimulate. I remember reading that Bremen said that this episode would explain why the Borg did come. They got the message and were investigating it.

  6. Now we know that they had plasma weapons when they left Earth. They also had a few phase weapons. After the first episode they probaly started to build some more phase pistols and rifles. On one episode, they brought back a plasma rifle. So they still have them. Now on Cogenitor I noticed the weapons locker Reed showed the Vissian tactical officer had three diffent weapons. In the middle were phase pistols, on the right were rifles that had a emitter on the end(I assumed these were the phase rifles)and on the left, rifles with barrels(I assumed they were plasma rifles).

On Regeneration, the rifles with barrels fired beams. So there phase rifles. Yet they still have rifles with emitters on the end.

  7. Is it just me, or does Enterprise have a lot more phase cannons then three. My count so far are 10. Has anybody else noticed this.

Also, what happend to the plasma cannons. Obvioulsy they were suppose to have them since Starfleet took the time to install them and were going to install phase cannons with them. And they can't just simple replace them. I'm sure plasma turret ports and phase cannon ports are too differnt.

  8. Starfleet is both exploratory and military. You can be a military but not conquer nations.

Starfleet in the 24th century had to stop a lot of its exploration missions to fight the war with the Dominion, but like I said before, the question should be about Starfleet in the 22nd century.

I don't believe its a military. I think they found exploration would be easier with some structure. Yes they are trained to fight, but thats because they will be by themselves. The coming events in the season finale will make them more militaristic.

As a side note, Starfleet in the 24th century has to be a military too, considering Starfleet has regulations handling troop deployment on the front lines. Three months, then your suppose to be pulled out.

  9. Starfleet in the 23rd and 24th centuries were obviously a military too. In TOS, it was up to Starfleet to stop Klingon aggression. In TNG, the Enterprise took on several military missions. In DS9, Starfleet fought the Dominion War.

The real question here is, in the 22nd century, is Starfleet a military. I'm going to say no. I belive Starfleet of the 22nd century is a exploration agency that uses military disipline to keep every thing going. Its just Earth hasn't seen a need to deploy a war fleet, since i'm sure they belive the Vulcans would come to there defense.
