1. I have really never heard a refit would change the class of a ship.  Ships now go through major changes when the technology improvements and it doesn't change their original number and class name.  It is still the same ship that was commissioned with lots technology upgrades.

Take for example Nimiz Class Aircraft Carriers.  If you look at USS Nimiz and compare it with USS Harry S. Truman, I was station on, they are very different ships.  The Truman is a much large ship with a longer fight deck and is much taller island.  There are also host of other changes that I can't post here.  With all the differences USS Harry S. Truman is still a Nimiz Class Aircraft Carrier.  It takes a major change in the whole ship to change the class.  To change in class starts from when the ship is built.

if you get a ship like the USS Hornet CVS-65 and Change the deck and stuff doesn't go into something else like:

USS Hornet CVE-65(escort) USS Hornet CVA-65(attack)

    ?????

  2. In Nemesis we see a photograph of Picard at the Academy and he is wearing the old cadet's uniform and is also TOTALLY bald.

However, if you recall the TNG episode where there is a flashback to Jack Crusher's funeral, we see Picard WITH HAIR wearing a Season One uniform.

Also, if you recall the episode Family, i think it was, we see a hologram of Jack Crusher shortly before his death wearing a movie era uniform without an undershirt. Perhaps the uniform was changed to the Season One TNG uniform just after this...

I can only explain the hair as follows: at the Academy, Picard's hair was thinning so he wet shaved it and then grew it back for a while before it all fell out naturally. Which would suggest that Shinzon, as he is about the same age as Picard in the photo, has wet shaved his head and is not yet totally bald.

In the 29th-31st Centurys, I bet they had ways to make hair grow back.

Is the actor really bald? If so, he probably just didn't want a wig. the young picard probably just had a shaved head to make it clearer that it was picard.

Most likely he was wearing a wig

    297302

Maybe, but probably just some technology that regrows hair follicles.

My guess is that the Nemesis writers simply forgot about the episode "Violations"

Really, Jean-Luc HAD hair when he was younger. Remember the episode "Tapestry"? We see "Ensign Picard" fighting a Nausicaan (while Q talks to Jean-Luc in that white area) - and he does not seem to "suffer" from baldness at all.  I find it unlikely that his hair grew back

yeah, the young actor had hair....but they needed to make the young picard look like the old picard...they wanted it to be obvious.

  3. I think that I might have...Well no...maybe...possiblly, have....well.... :blush 2: :blush 2: :angry: :huh: :cheers::blush:

It was sad, seeing Data go....

Data, all of us here at STF Salute you, wherever you may be...

  4. Good point...  im dumb

I certainly wouldn't say your dumb just because you have a different view on the caretaker. B)

I would be interested to hear what it is about him that you like. (other than his cool banjo picking  nobody could have a problem with that  )

    307735

I like the Sense of Honor that the Caretaker has. As he says in the movie, there was another, but they got tired of doing that simple work, and protecting the Ocompa. He, however, didn't leave. He stayed behind, protecting the Ocompa, fixing his errors, just as Captain Janeway did in the episode "the cloud". Having said that, I would venture to say that the Caretaker said that his species didn't know the technology would hurt the Ocompa's Planet, Just as Captain Janeway's Ship (Technology) Hurt The Cloud.

Although these are good reasons, the main reason that i like it is because of the holographic lady that menecingly says, "Since nobody wants any corn, we'll have to proceed ahead of schedule," as she holds a pitch fork up to Tom Paris.

    To put in Summary:

The Caretaker Really isn't that much different from picard, or Janeway. They all share a sense of duty, and honor.

I maily just liked the pitchfork lady though! :)

 I like the way this ones movement is more fluid and its deflector homage to the Ambassador is stunning but that third nacelle makes it butt-ugly. Thanks for the look at them though.

    307764

yeah...But that third Nacelle can get it up to Warp 17 (Original Cochrane Unit (OCU))

P.S. I think The Cheyenne can get up to like umm...19 (Original Cochrane Unit (OCU)) Even though it's a higher number its slower than the current warp 9.999 (Modified Cochrane Unit (MCU)). It's like Millimeters and Centimeters!

    307769

Right, like I said...It wasn't made for beautiful-ness. It was made to allow the colonation of distant worlds to take place in a shorter time period. Thus allowing the UFP to get out and dominate, the way they did. I belive that the Cheyenne had the same purpose. I know that the Daedalus-Class and later the Olympic-Class were colonization ships.

Yeah! Uhh! Yeah! Dude! Sweet! Rock on!

    :cheers::blush::blush: :angry: :angry:

  8. I've liked the concept of a large gunship, the Akira class.  Plus the name is pretty wicked.  I've always liked the movie Akira.

    That ship is SWEET dude!

    306124

It's actually a really large ship. It's larger than an Excelsior class. I mentioned it was a gunship. Most publications say it has 15, that's right, 15 torpedo launchers.

I love the NX-class, it's my avatar, looks like the Akira....

I have an original Excelsior, i think... My website...ships
