1. I think he's hot (not as hot as "my" hero, though, of course  ) but heck, Brent really does look good, I've seen so many pics of him and he looks good on every single one... I like him more as an actor, though, but I can understand if women say he's hot.

Well you do have a hero that still has very nice legs and chest among other things.

2. Ok sorry had to do that.  When does it start?  What chanel is it on?

It's going to be on the main CBS network but they haven't even made the pilot yet. You'll have to wait until CBS announces its fall schedule before anything is known.

BTW, at a recent convention Brent did say that his part was recurring so it sounds like he won't be on every week - if CBS picks up the series.

The show's production team includes "Star Trek" vet Brannon Braga and ...

:P One of the Star Trek Killers is getting his own show huh? Everything wrong with ENT and its eventual demise is starting to make sense now.

I hope you aren't seriously suggesting that Brannon Braga would try to kill Enterprise so he could be involved with another series. There is such a thing as resigning which a number of other Trek people have done over the years. As well, it is not unheard of to executive produce more than one series at a time especially when he is one of four executive producers for Threshold (David S. Goyer, Bragi Schut and Mark Rosen are the others). Besides, he stepped back quite a bit this season when Manny Coto came in.

309667

I'm saying I don't like the timing and that it's possible Braga was 'distracted' from giving ENT his complete attention because thoughts of his own series was crowding ENT out. Imo he's proven he cannot handle more than one project at a time. His stepping back occurred once ENTs fate was sealed, remember season 4 was a gift.

If Enterprise had gone downhill this season then I might consider that however we both agree that Manny Coto has been doing a wonderful job. It wasn't Brannon Braga's decision to cancel Enterprise and he probably had as much input in that decision as we did, in all honesty.

4. I was wondering if anyone has seen The Aviator yet. There has been so much hype around this movie with its Golden Globe nominations and talk of Oscar nominations as well. I'd like to know if it as good as its hype says it is. Also, I'm curious as to how much screen time Brent Spiner has.

I will get around to seeing it at some point. It might take me a little while to work up to stomach to go see a Leonardo DiCaprio movie though (lol can't you tell I'm not a fan of his).

6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY

BRENT SPINER

BD7.jpgBD5.jpg

Brent Spiner played the android Lieutenant Commander Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation, and was featured in the four ST: TNG motion pictures "Star Trek Generations," "Star Trek: First Contact", "Star Trek: Insurrection" and "Star Trek Nemesis." The character Data possesses super-strength and an incredible memory. He's virtually an encyclopedia, but only in terms of information, not behavior. Data is totally innocent; however, he does possess a sense of question and wonder that allows him to evolve.

Also on TNG, Trek fans were treated to his wonderful performances as Data's evil* brother, Lore and his creator, Dr. Noonien Soong. The most notably episode featuring the Soong family was season 4's Brothers which featured all three characters together.

BD19.jpgBD21.jpg

Brent Spiner also recently appeared on Star Trek Enterprise as Dr. Arik Soong, an ancestor of Data's creator.

BD14.jpg

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Spiner moved to New York after college, where he performed in numerous off-Broadway plays. "The play that finally pushed me over into the serious-actor category was a public theater production of 'The Seagull' [Anton Chekhov] for Joseph Papp," he says. Spiner eventually won roles in the Broadway musical productions of "Sunday in the Park with George," "The Three Musketeers" and "Big River," which was based on the story of Huckleberry Finn. Spiner won acclaim for his performance as John Adams in the Broadway production 1776 as well as his portrayal of Hubert in Life X3.

Brent Spiner's many movie and television credits can be found at IMDB. They include:

•

• the scene stealing Dr. Brackish Okun in Independence Day;

• the evil Devlin Bowman, the only good thing about Master of Disguise; and

• Gil Godwyn, the devilish cruise director in Out to Sea.

During the fourth season hiatus of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Spiner co-produced and released his first album. Entitled "Ol' Yellow Eyes is Back," the album features some of the most popular classic standards ever recorded.

*He's NOT evil, he's misunderstood!!

**I know some of you are thinking "Takara, this is the lamest birthday tribute you've ever done and it's for your favourite actor!! What the heck is wrong with you?!" Let me just say that I'm working on something as you read this.

299643

Great pictures.

And I am about a week late but happy birthday brent.

I got on a differetn mesasge braod somehow and thought it was this one and i was like hay ! where is all the cool stuff and why have my pitifule rate gone down more!!! and where is the batman smiles?!!!!

Happy Birthday Brent - you're an awesome actor.

My favorite (non Trek) Brent role was in

Introducing Dorothy Dandridge

as far as "evil" - that performance on L&O:SVU was pretty scary.

299729

I loved that movie!!!! "... with my brand new dixie cup!" but it does have irony. he was in a movie that in one part they are making the afican queen a movie that brent said he is saving to watch on his death bed.

7. :( cheers Crazy-Trek-Kitten. (and hey, unfreeze your pc and share your explanation. I'd love to read it. :) )

Takara_Soong, I'm sure you're correct about the fates of Lore and Juliana. (her secret will probably be buried with her and I can't believe that starfleet would allow lore to just gather dust aboard the enterprise.)

I too think that Lore was misunderstood, but that doesn't mean that he wasn't dangerous. (just not evil) The danger was from his great abilities coupled with emotional problems.

I think that the only episode that did Lore justce was "Brothers". We get a small peek into the tourtured soul of Lore when he displays real pain and confusion when faced with soong and his excuses for his treatment of Lore.

A android capable of billions of calculations per second, strength beyond any human, but inside he is just a small child that is hurt and angry because his daddy doesn't love him and in fact tried to kill him.

Soong said that Lore's emotions 'twisted', but I think soong created a fully self-aware being with the full range of emotions, a son, and treated it like just another  experiment.

Lore was his child, but he only saw an android.

Lore couldn't recover from that early trauma.

Indeed, Lore never had a chance.

You need to get out of my head!!!!! That is part of my explaination and exactly part of what i think. are you my mirror self for the other univers *rips off his facal hair thing.* YOU ARE AHHHHHHHHHHH :( :)
