  1. I for one am excited to see whatever they come up with. I think that many people got bored of Trek and decided to trash it. I agree with some that enterprise had lacking moments, but for the most part (keeping an open mind) I thought it was good. I've enjoyed every movie, because I think every movie had its own thing I liked about it. I don't think that XI will suck, because it'll be another Trek Movie and that to me is great!!

  2. As a Christian I would like to say that it isn't our place to judge. Many people have their own personal opinions and always want to use the Bible to attack others when in reality we truly don't know what the end result will be. Interpretations of the Bible could be used to benefit one group of people but then used to attack another group of people. I'm pretty certain that God did not intend the Bible to be used as a tool to hurt or cause prejudices. God's love is unlimited and only on that final day when we stand before the presence of God will we be judged for who we are and what we chose to do with our lives. God knows our hearts and its intentions. So whether you are Gay, Straight, Bi, Latino, Black, White or Asian it shouldn't matter, because the ONE thing that the bible teaches us through the examples of Jesus is to Love one another- that means accepting with out prejudice. It isn't our place to judge.

On a Personal Note: I enjoyed George's acting abilities, I thought he did a great job bringing Sulu to life for us in Star Trek. I've also enjoyed his other performances outside of trek too. My opinion is he's not the only one in Hollywood that's gay and his personal life should not affect how we view the guy.

  3. This is a very good question, One I felt deserved a good answer.

First of all - If Enterprise wasn't a Trek show, It probably would have had a different name altogether. Since I am a Scott Bakula fan I would've checked it out, but I think my reactions would have been the same. I liked the series but it had a few flaws that I think, even if it weren't Trek it still would've turned me off.

Second of all Things for this series started off wrong from the very beginning.

    1. Music - Although the song was catchy - it wasn't Trek Like. The music without the song would have been better, in my opinion.

    2. Name - Right off the bat they didn't call it Star Trek, only adding it in after ratings took a deep dive.

    3. Technobable - Lack of the technobable the other series used, that always made me think "Is that possible, could there be such a thing?" The jargons used were so 1990's instead of words that could be used in the future.

    4. Newly created Aliens - You'd think we would have heard of some of these aliens within the other four series, since they were all set after Ent. Such a menacing diverse group and we never heard about them before; the Suliban:Xindi:Xyrillian I know we could all argue that there were aliens that are part of the Federation that we never heard of before - But I think it would have been better if first contact with all the known aliens were done first.

  4. I haven't even thought about it since the end of Enterprise. UPN never did appeal to me. WWE lost my interest a long time ago too. I don't check out Spike or Scifi anymore either- I think they are inconsistent in their viewing times. What I like to do is whichever episode is being featured for the day on StarTrek.com on each series page, that's the episode I watch from my collection of DVDs. Since I have all the episodes from TOS straight thru Ent Season 2. I don't miss much. I like to mix it up a bit too. Keeps it very interesting. Last night for instance I watched TOS: Day of the Dove tonite I will watch TNG: Elementary Dear Data and so on... and if I feel like watching more than two hours I'll watch the other episodes that are on the DVD.

  5. I guess I'm a masochist... because I also feel sad after watching the series finale for all three (TNG, DS9, and VOY), but I enjoy them too much not to watch them.

TNG saddened me, but everytime I watch it, I know that it didn't end there, the movies followed. DS9 was a very good ending too.. sad that Sisko became a Celestial Temple Alien, but hey it came to full circle with his story-line. Closure was good, but since I picked up the novels after, I could see where a mini-series (Based on Unity) could come in handy. And END GAME was my favorite of all! I loved the fact that they made it home. Another Circle completed in my eyes. And the Novel series after that "Homecoming" filled in the gap for me (Also another Mini-series that could be made).

So don't be distraught... You could always mourn the demise of Enterprise.

    <_<

  6. Living in L.A. CA, Vegas is like our backyard. Three hour drive and we're there. I haven't been there in two years, so I haven't been to the Borg Invasion (planning for this Spring). Prior to that I used to go at least twice a year, and everyone that took the trip knew that we would have to stop at the Hilton. Everyone thats ever been there with me has enjoyed it. The biggest thrill is standing on the bridge of the enterprise D. Being transported is also very cool!! Quarks and the shops are also an enjoyable experience. The walk through museum is nice with the timeline, but I wonder if it's been updated in the last couple of years?

  7. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF AT LEAST ANOTHER PERSON WHO'S EVER REALLY WON SOMETHING ON THE STARTREK.COMs GIVEAWAY? I HAVE ENTERED TO WIN FOR EVERY ITEM EVER PUT UP AS A GIVEAWAY SINCE THE SITE HAS BEEN UP AND I'VE NEVER WON ANYTHING AND I DON'T KNOW OF ANYONE WHO HAS EITHER. IF YOU DO, OR IF YOU'VE WON PLEASE LET ME KNOW... I THINK I'M GOING INSANE TRYING TO FIGURE THIS ONE OUT. B)

  8. Like everyone else I also had a hard time with this list. So after putting much thought into it... I decided that it has to be in this order:

    1. My episodes on DVDs & VHSs

    2. My Huge collection of Action Figures (all sizes)

    3. My books

    4. My posters

    5. My computer games

  9. I get told by almost everyone that comes to my house and sees my collection of DVDs proudly displayed that they've either never seen an episode, didn't understand it, or just didn't like it. And it always ends up with someone saying that it's stupid. This annoys me because how can you judge something if you don't give it a chance. Then I have a friend who used to come over and watch Trek with me, but I had to stop it because he'd criticize everything about it. I don't take lightly to Trek Bashing. Constructive Criticizim is acceptable, but Bashing is another thing.

  10. When I was in the Army (years ago) there were a group of people (4 guys and 2 girls) who started having Ouiji parties in the barracks. Up to that point I had never seen one I had heard that Ouiji boards were of demonic nature. Well I tell you that within a year of that group having their parties, really strange things started happening to them. It was also well known throughout the company that they were using these parties as an excuse to have orgies. I knew one of the guys pretty good and he'd always invite me to the Ouiji parties, but I never dared to go. Sometimes he would tell me stuff that would happen at the parties, like someone getting possessed by one of the ghosts, or like talking to old dead soldiers that hung out on base. I remember he told me once that all the bad stuff that one of the other guys was going through was because he hadn't wiped the board clean, I still don't know what he meant by that. All that stuff was kind of freaky to me, so I never tried to join in. Everyone thought that particular group were all freaks and that they were playing with something they knew nothing about. There's no way I would get near one of those boards!!

  11. I think that had Opaka not got stuck in the Gamma Quadrant, Winn would have figured a way to get Opaka out of her way to become Kai... I wouldn't put it past her to have made arrangements to have her murdered. Winn was just as ruthless or even more so than the Cardassians. Although I hated Winn, I did love to see Louise Fletcher (or Nurse Ratched) on DS9!!!

  12. Wow this was very interesting read, where all the screen names came from and how some of you have come up with them...

As for mine, if your not familiar with the book series he is the Captain of the USS Excalibur, Captain Mckenzie Calhoun is my all time favorite captain. I would love to see him in action on the screen whether it's a cameo on the big screen or a mini-series based on the series of books (which I would perfer the later).

I've used that screen name with everything trek, including Startrek.com

  13. These are good enough reasons for Paramount to think about doing a mini-series for DS9. Farscape's mini-series is due out shortly and hopefully it will give closure to us fans. That's what Paramount should do with DS9 for us. A mini-series lightly based on the series of books leading up to Unity would be a very good mini-series in my opinion. There would be many answered questions, such as to who is Thirishar ch'Thane? What's happened with Sisko since he's been with the Wormhole Aliens? Who replaces Odo as Security Chief? and will the Bajor ever join the Federation? This is just something I'd like to see done.

On Amazon.com they refer to these books as "Season 8"

  14. I have given up trying to catch Trek on either Spike or SciFi because it's always on at times that are inconvenient for me. So, I have resorted to buying all the DVDs and it is so much better. I watch when I want to watch, watch an episode that sometimes is the featured episode from startrek.com to keep a good mix of episodes, and I love the fact that there's no commercials or taglines listing the station name... I usually watch two to three episodes a day.

    This works for me!!
