  1. Why do People keep doing this to me!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! B)

Ok, seriously. B) I voted for "Paralles" but I like "Fist Full Of Datas" just as much because I just love the comedy elements. I was surprised "Sword Of Kahless" (sp?) wasn't mentioned. I always like seeing John Colicos in action. :o

  2. A sci-fi themed episode of "Diagnosis Murder" will be on Pax Tv tonight at 10pm EST. This episode features actors with backgrounds in Sci-Fi television, most notably Star Trek. Actors Koenig, Takei, Barrett and Whitney were all featured in the original Star Trek series. Wil Wheaton appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Bill Mumy acted in both Lost in Space and Babylon 5.

  3. I think "Dagger" was better. Mental Illness is an intrest of mine (I don't suffer from it...I enjoy it  ) and it was dealt with so well. Simon VanGelder was an interesting character. I also liked "Conscience of the King" for simillar reasons.

  4. Since ENT is the current series, I thought it best to post here. :)

I was just thinking.  Is it possible that a large problem with Trek is that the show is made too much for the fans, and not enough for the broad audience?

With TOS, it was an original work, there wasn't a huge fan base, just an awe-struck audience.  Then TNG brought Trek back with a whole new look.  DS9 took us to an alien space station, while VOY took us to the other side of the galaxy.  Now we've gone back in time to see how it all started.

What I'm getting at, is that it seems the producers are trying to make Trekkie Trek, rather than a quallity Star Trek.  I don't consider myself a "Trekkie", but rather someone who loves the show, buys the movies, season sets, and soundtracks, and visits a few websites.  I do the same for Stargate SG-1, but that doesn't make me an obsessive fan.

I think the franchise needs to take a more serrious turn.  I think the main reason the fans are upset is the lack of science, continuity, and stories that just feel "silly" compared to TNG.  TNG's success lied in being very realistic, trying to be scientifically acurrate, being episodic while having story arcs at the same time, all while holding continuity.  I think this is what ENT needs.

    What about you?

Interesting points, but i think it's just the other way around. "Enterprise" seems like it's made for everyone but the hardcore fan. For a while there it seemed like we couldn't get away from the sexual themes or one of the crew running around in skimpy tops or underwear. Standard ratings grabbing practice for "Modern" television shows. I was only wondering when they were going to have the teenage angst episodes ("Enterprise Creek"?). I hope this new direction starts giving the fans what we want.

  5. Do you read the TNG books? What book are you reading now? What is your favorite?

The Last TNG book I read was the "Nemesis" novel. I'm so glad I read it before seeing the movie. It went into more detail and made things alot clearer about the depth of the relationship between Shinzon and The Viceroy. My favorite book is "Dark Mirror".

  6. I read the TOS books, and still have my collection starting with the first one.  I think my favorite was either Prime Directive or

    Strangers from the Sky.

Sorry to hear that about the "Garth" book. I was looking forward to reading that as he was a favorite characters. I still might read it any way.

  7. Not so fast muddthe1st, there is going to be a third Khan book, it takes place during the "exile years" between Space Seed and TWOK. I am still reading the second Khan book and it is great!

    I know...I CAN'T WAIT!!! :)

  8. Do you read the TOS books? What book are you reading now? What is your favorite?

The Last TOS book I read was "Assignment: Eternity" I had just finished both Greg Cox's "Kahn" novles and enjoyed them so much I wanted to read his first book. I just love the characters of Gary Seven and Roberta. It would have made a good series. I am about to start the TOS section 31 book.

  9. This was an excellent episode, maybe the portal showed the past of the people that were in front of it. if it was a klingon there, maybe it would've showed his past. only a little conjecture.

Interesting thought but Spock was there as well.

  10. I think that a lot of the TOS episodes can stand up to any episodes from the other series. "Where No Man Has Gone before","Balance Of Terror", "Mirror, Mirror", "Enterprise Incident", "Enemy Within" "Amok Time", "City On The Edge Of Forever", "Space Seed", "Day Of The Dove" and "Trouble with Tribbles" to name a few. Sure they had a few stinkers but so did the other series.

  11. An interesting thing that I often think about is:

Which other adversary would Nick Meyer have chosen from the series had he not gone with Kahn?

Thats another topic altogether, but it is something to think about when voting (unless you pick Kahn).

The only one I could think of is Garth Of Izar. Or Harry of course

  12. Having us think Kirk was a "skirt chaser" added alot more interest to the character didn't it? Despite the facts that you've so nicely put down..The character of Kirk will always be a ladies man to me.

No one ever denied Kirk wasn't a ladies man. Only the stereotype that he had a woman in "EVERY" episode. When would he have had the time (or the energy) to run the ship?

  13. Lots of good replys. I don't think they lowered the sheilds because the sheilds were still surronding the ship before they fired on it. maybe Scotty and Geordie rigged up some doohikee (Tech Babble) to alow them to beam through. Wouldn't put it past them.

  14. Actually in one of the animated TOS episodes, I think it was "The Practical Joker", they do have a holodeck however I think they just called it a rec room. I remember Sulu and another crew member getting trapped in it and it kept changing enviornments. I know it's not "Canon" but it is there.

  15. haha, thats great!  those are pretty much the perfect people for those roles, or at least as close as you can get

so Indy, who should we have Harrison Ford be..? Riker...or maybe data...?  :)

I was thinking Harrison Ford could be a Borg. Harrison Borg :)

However he would make a great Riker. Especially teaming him up with Connery again

  16. If Hollywood were to make a HUGE budget TNG movie with their biggest stars...I would cast...

    Picard- Sean Connery

    Riker- John Travolta

    Data- Tom Hanks

    Worf- Michael Clark Duncan

    Geordie- Will Smith

    Troi- Catherine Zeta Jones

    Crusher- Julianne Moore

    Lawaxana Troi- Judi Dench

    Q- Jim Carey

    Ferengi- Danny Devito

    Sela (or Tasha)- Kate Hudson

    Wesley- Gary Coleman (Gotcha!) :)

  17. More episodes with Harry Mudd would have been great. The animated one wasn't so bad. I would have also liked to have seen another episode with Kor. It would have made up for Colicos being unavailable for "Day Of The Dove".

And how about another go around with the Romulan Commander from "Enterprise Incident"?
