  1. Of course Palpetine is Sidious! Maybe it's the fact that I have been studying Star Wars since 1977. I knew Palpitine was Sidious before Episode 1 came out. I think I even know how Anakins body is mangled. How could Mace be a Sith there are only 2 and the next two are going to be Sidious aka Palpitine aka Emperer and Darth Vader! Mace would make a 3rd.

That 2 Sith rule is only what the Jedi know of them. Remember, the Jedi thought the Sith were extinct, so they don't know what Sith rules are in order.

And, ahem, Palpatine is not Sidious. 2 differen't people. Palpatine takes over in ROTS.

In the book Episode 1 or Attack of the Clones( I can't remember which) it explains why there are only 2 siths at a time, and why there can't be more than 2. And I believe Palpatine is Sidious. Sidious is his sith name. Then he becomes the Emporer. If he is not sidious how did Palpetine become the Emperor with all that dark power? Listen to the voice it's the same. Look at the chin it's the same. Palpatine is Sidious is Emperor. Also at the end of Episode 1 when Mace and Yoda are wondering who the master Sith is why does the camera pan to Palpatines face?

  5. After watching Q who? this evening it was interesting seeing the very first appearence of the Borg on Star Trek. Its amazing how far the Borg have evolved from Q who? to say, Endgame. They have changed dramaticly since then but the core points of the Borg are there from regeneration to collectiveness. Who knew that within a few years, a Borg drone would be a major charater in a Star Trek TV series? It's at times like these that I wish that I could erase all my memoy of Star Trek and strt again, through seasons 1-7 of TNG, DS9, VOY and then ENT, just to get the full force of the story lines. Ah well...

Q who? was also a great show in itself, with plenty o action fraught with tension. As Picard says it was a 'kick in the pants'. (note he doesn't say whether from the front or back) But even better was the debating other humanity's value and ideals, something that always happens when Q is around. I believe this episode also marks the ending of TNG's 'complacency'. The speacil effects were flawed at best, espeacily when compared to Voyagers lavish Borg sets, but who cares? The story rivaled anything Voyager could come up with.

    All hail Q who?

It is interesting how allot of species evolve or de-evolve. I mean look at the Ferengi when we first met then they were fierce and stronger than hu-mans with those cool phaser whips! Now they make them out to be weekling little worms who have no army! I believe there was a thread about the Dominion getting weaker as well.:laugh:
