Theunicornhunter 2 Posted December 2, 2006 We generally think of TNG as introducing married crew members and families but there was that scene where Kirk was going to perform a wedding ceremony - (sadly the groom to be was a red shirt). Do you think sustaining a marriage is feasible in Star Fleet (remember Keiko gave up her career for Miles) with the extreme differences and time separated if they were assigned to different locations. On the other hand wouldn't it require a different thinking if married couples were allowed to serve in the same location (the incident with Worf & Jadzia) Anyway I put this in TOS because they had the first instance of crew marriage. Kor37 9 Posted December 2, 2006 With crew members embarking on 5 year missions, it would be inevitable that there would be some marriages aboard ship. I'm sure that both understand the risks involved before committing to each other.
Mr. Spock 0 Posted January 9, 2007 I agree with the Unicorn Hunter. They both agreed to take the risk in order to stay together.
