Unwilling Alliances

 

Prologue

In the Beta Quadrant Chancellor Metros was on his annual visit to Earth when his ship the IKS Mizzen was attacked by an unknown vessel, the ship was about 1000 meters long and had a bounty of weapons to keep his ship under wraps, The Mizzen fired back but the Neg’Var class ship hadn’t got a chance. After an ensuing battle the Mizzen was disabled and hailed the unidentified ship, there was no answer and after trying several times the Chancellor decided to sit it out and wait with great duress. After several hours the unknown vessel hailed them.

“Chancellor Metros, we are the Adome, we are a humanoid species from the Andromeda Galaxy, we have been sent here by our High Guard to investigate a potential expansion plan to this Galaxy”

After they had finished The Chancellor started laughing uncontrollably, just then a type of phaser was fired at the Mizzen… nothing it was gone not a trace left.

 

Chapter:1

Meanwhile in the Alpha the C in C of the Federation David Trent was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Chancellor, he had plans for the new trade union between the two allies.

The day the Chancellor was supposed to arrive was a disappointing day, he never arrived.

A few hours later he was told that a giant ship was detected on the Regula 1 stations scanners, an unknown ship and some debris a few light-years away.

David sent a subspace priority one message to The Klingon High Command. He told them that The Chancellor never arrived and that there was a giant ship and some debris detected in sector Regula 7.

 

The Klingon Command mustered a Fleet of ship to investigate these findings. The Federation also sent a small fleet of ship and the Federation Flagship the USS Enterprise-E, it had been refitted after the incident with Shinzon, it was barely space-worthy. After a few hours they were underway, they were to meet up at the Clerter Nubulae, when they met up they proceeded to the Regula 7 sector. After a few hours of finding nothing they decided to give up when the Enterprise detected an ion trail, the Fleets proceeded to follow the trail. When they came to the end of the trail they found nothing except one body floating in space. The Flagship of the Klingon fleet transported the body aboard, it was Chancellor Metros. The Klingon captain swore revenge, in his own word “I will seek out this pe’taq and drink his blood out of his own skull”.

 

Even though the Federation helped in the search and rescue some factions of the Klingon Military and High Command suspected them.

A month went by and the Federation and the Klingons were at the brink of war, the Klingons accused and the Federation denied, the USS Enterprise was taken from the Romulan Neutral Zone and sent to the Klingon Border. Fleets were mounting on each side of the border and no one knew what was happening it was all so fast.

 

The Klingons were arrogant and ignorant of the peace they had with the Federation for years, why would they attack them now.

The Federation knew that the Klingons would not hesitate to attack them with or without warning so they made a pact with the Cardassians that said that if they were attacked the Cardasssians would assist them.

The Federation also tried to ally with the Romulans but the Romulans took a Neutral stance in this aggression.

The Klingons also allied with the breen but they had only sent a few ships to help the cause.

 

Chapter:2

After a few last attempts to reason with the Klingons failed, they had no choice but to be ready for attack.

The first engagement was at the uninhabited planet of Dek’vur Prime, just as the Klingon ship attacked a giant vessel decloaked starboard of the Enterprise. Both sides were completely confounded; they were all disabled by a shockwave created by the ship.

“Federation and Klingon ships we are the Adome, we are here to assess a possible expansion to your Galaxy”. The usual Klingon reply was an all out attack but all there ships were destroyed except one, The Flagship IKS Neg’Var,

“We do not wish to fight but we can destroy all your ship with the push of a button, do not attempt to attack us, Klingon vessel we are the ship that destroyed your Chancellor and his ship, it was not the Humans”

When they heard this they tried to attack but all their power was being drained, they could do nothing their Life Support would fail very soon. They started to die one by one.

The Enterprise transported all the 56 survivors to their ship. There was an ensuing battle in the cargo bay, several men died. Things were soon brought to order.

The Enterprise and the rest of the fleet remained there until they were hailed by the Adome

“Captain Picard of the Federation we have chosen you as our negotiator, you will do the duties of explaining why we are here, what our demands are and the territory that we require”

 

After a few minutes of consulting with the crew Picard hailed them

“Adome Vessel as there is no alternatives and no way out I have reluctantly accepted you demands”

Just when he finished talking he was transported to the Adome ship, he saw, it was big, technology he had never seen in his life, men that looked just like humans, it was all so sudden.

The crew of the Enterprise was contacted in text that the Captain was on the ship and they were going to Earth, there were told to gather all the great powers of the galaxy and to bring them to Earth.

There was nothing they could do except carry out the demands.

They headed for Quo’nos as it was closest and they needed to return the Klingons.

They collected the new Chancellor Martak and left at warp factor 9.5. Next they went to Vulcan to collect the High Council; they went all over the quadrant to collect the Leaders of each race willing to join them.

When they reached Reman they were held up by the reluctance of the Romulans to join them.

After that the six ships headed straight for Earth, when they arrived they were greeted by the Adome, they had been there a few days now.

Captain Picard had told the C in C about the position they were in. The negotiations were to take place at Starfleet Command in San Francisco.

The Adome laid out their demands for territory and alliance.

They want 34 sectors in the Alpha quadrant and 29 in the Beta quadrant, the Federation, Vulcans and Cardassian found this non-negotiable, the Klingons were afraid to say much as they could not afford another war. The Adome retracted their demands to 25 in the Alpha and 22 in the Beta; each representative found this acceptable. Another settlement was the Borg treat to the Quadrants, if they were found in any alliance territory then the Adome would assist that Empire in driving them back to the Delta Quadrant. Each World reluctantly agreed to this, as there was nothing that could change this anymore. Each world did not even want the Adome in their territory but there was nothing they could do. The sneaky Romulans spoke out for the first time

“What do we get out of all this”

The Adome were all too happy to reply to that question.

“You get a Trade Agreement and Protection from the Borg”

The Romulans were angry at this.

“We have protected ourselves from the Borg for years we do not need assistance, we have a flourishing Economy we do not need your food”

This statement greatly angered the Adome

“We do not care if you sign this accord but if you do not we will be enemies and you will not stand a chance against our ships, we can fire when cloaked, we have in your standards type 23 phasers, tachyon torpedoes, we travel faster than your enemies the Borg, you would not stand a chance”

After this the Romulans stormed out and left the conference, they left Earth and went home to prepare for war.

 

 

Chapter:3

Back in the conference the other worlds all signed the accords, which were from now on to be called the Picard Accords.

Each diplomat went home to their respective worlds to prepare the evacuation of the given territories they gave up to the Adome.

 

On Romulus the Romulans were preparing for war when they heard word that their defensive line was broken at the Klingon Romulan Neutral Zone.

Sooner or later they would be at Seika two, 52 light-years away from Romulus.

The Romulans sent a Fleet of Raptors, Talons, Warbirds and many other ships all to take out one ship. Then another sighting was reported 30 light-years from Romulus all in 30 minutes.

The Romulans were getting very frightened, they sent another fleet to defend Romulus and another for Reman. After a 15-minute wait they finally detected the ship 5 light-years from Romulus. Then silence… the tension mounted when the ship disappeared off the sensors, it had cloaked.

The Romulans waited for it to re-appear with great worry, then all of a sudden there it was, the big ship with weapons gleaming.

 

It targeted the Lead ship the Gertez a Warbird class ship, it fired and then it was blow to smithereens, the other ships scuttled around firing their arsenal at the ship but it didn’t make a difference the ship’s shields were impermeable, not even a Talaxian flea could get through them.

Ship by ship went down or was destroyed. The Romulans were outgunned and they could do nothing, they had never fought such a worthy enemy.

 

The Romulans were losing ship after ship so they decided to ask for a truce, the Adome didn’t reply and kept destroying ships until they had broken the defensive line, when they had they headed for Romulus they completely destroyed the planet from orbit, this greatly worried the inhabitants of Reman, anyone that had a ship left orbit in search of amnesty.

It was an amazing sight to see thousands of ships fleeing from Romulan space, the amazing warbirds went down one by one, then the ship targeted Reman the terrified inhabitants could do nothing.

 

 

Chapter:4

Meanwhile a few hours ago on Earth the Federation found out what was happening, it was against all their directives, it was an outrage.

They could not be allied with these monsters, they had killed billions of people. They could not stand for this. David sent a priority one message to Vulcan instructing them to prepare for an attack, the same message was sent to Cardassia Prime, Quo’nos, and the Breen homeworld to muster the biggest fleet they could get in time to attack this expansionist. The Federation sent a fleet of 38 ships made of Sovereign, Akira, Norway, Nebula, Galaxy, Intrepid, defiant, and many other ships, the Vulcans gave a Fleet of 12 ships, the Breen 16, the Cardassians 34 and the Klingons 31 ships. 131 ships in total to destroy one ship.

 

It took several long hours to arrive in Romulan controlled space. There was a long path of destruction along the way, when they arrived the ship was about to attack Reman and a core explosion was about to erupt on Romulus. Two ships were destroyed by the shockwave. The Enterprise was leading the Fleet and when they got within range they fired, 129 ship all firing at once was an amazing site, there was an ensuing battle but nothing seemed to work, there shields had only been moderately damaged. The joint force had lost 39 ships. They fought on for several hours more which left the enemy ship’s shield severely damaged, but left the joint fleet with 58 ships left, they fired again and again till then the shields went down…

 

The joint force pounded into the hull of the giant ship, until the hull was ready to fail. The enemy ship did not give up though, it fought on and left the force with 28 ships left, there was many casualties in the battle approximately 42,000 lives were lost in the Joint Force, no one knew the crew capacity of the enemy ship so they could not know the extent of loss over there.

 

The ships armour and hull began to buckle after a crippling blow from several quantum torpedo hits.

The remaining ships retreated to a safe distance as the huge ship exploded.

Finally after several hours of fighting the ship had been destroyed, the rescue of the remaining lives then began, several derelict ship could still support life, so anyone alive on them was transported to nearby ships.

They helped the Romulans restore peace and order on Romulus and saved the stranded on disabled ships.

There was still a treat to the Galaxy from the Adome, but the Enterprise had downloaded the tactical and navigation information that the Adome ship before it had been destroyed so they knew how to attack them and with what weapons, they knew how to defeat them! Another bonus they found was that it took the Adome ship several years to travel the distance between the galaxies, but could there be a fleet on the way already…
