Star Trek: The Birth of the Federation

I dont know if im posting this in the right spot but... I receintly got the game Star Trek: The Next Generation The Birthe of the Federation at a stor that sells games second hand and the more i look at the game the more i get confused. Could some one (who has it) tell me how to play it?!?! :) :) :)

Pick a race and make an alliance, fight the Borg go to war. It is fun.

Is basicaly just a Star Trek version of Civilization. Go around around colonating planets, building up their economy, research new technology and stuff like that.
