MQ, what's going on here?

Hubble took a picture of a star (V838 Monocerotis) and it showed something called the light echo affect. This Light echo effect is the star's light bouncing off the 'clouds' surrounding it which is then reflected to the Hubble.

It is a great picture to be sure. I think all of the pictures you posted are awesome and show the value of the Hubble. I believe a moon based telescope (on the "dark side") would give us even better, more valuable pictures.

Yeah it is fascinating!

 

When we look at one of the clips and then go to another day the great dilation is the result “the bouncing of the light” (as the diagram shows)
