John Woo

Recommended Posts

Does anyone hate John Woo as much as I do? His movies are always so dumb. They are ever the least bit believable, even if he's aiming for sci-fi. They suck! Mission:Impossible was an amazing movie, and then here comes John Woo - MI2 SUCKED MAJOR CRAP! Sorry. Just can't stand John Woo. Seems to ruin everything he touches. (People can't fly! Maybe if it was a fantasy movie, but an action movie? Come on!). And that Paycheck movie looks like another version of Johny Nmenomonic (SP? lol), and that sucked major crap too!

Well, I agree about Woo but MI1 had a BIG problem too imo, Mr. Phelps became a bad guy just so Cruise could take his place. ;) I thought that sucked.

after seeing alot of the old episodes, if i was a fan of the show before the movie, i would be REALLY REALLY REALLY angry, but i thought it was very surprising. did anyone actually see that coming? lol. just as a single movie, by itself, i thought it was great. (as an extension of the show however, no its probably not very good)

Oh it was a surprise all right just not a good one, I was angry.

You know how it sucks when you go to a concert expecting to hear the songs played the way you remember them but they get all artistic and ruin em, that's what MI1 was like for me.

Imo, series based movies should be extensions of the series not some wildeyed writer looking to make a name for his/her self's version. At this moment, the only recent series film I can remember that got it (mostly) right was Scobby Doo.

Ya they really do love to change it. I'm not quite sure why. If you are going to do a movie based on a series, do it right. If you want to be creative, don't even try to base it on anything.

Well even though you didnt like MI1, you have to admit that MI2 was the biggest piece of crap sequel ever concieved. John Woo should be banned from being able to make any new films... EVER. Lol.

Yeah stupid me, I didn't learn my lesson on the first one and gave 2 a try, (thankfully though not in the theater) but it too stank in all new ways! ;)

John Woo likes to do films that blow stuff up. I was very disappointed in the Film "Windtalkers" which was about the Native American soldiers in World War II that spoke their native tongue as code and the Japenese never did understand or break the code.

The story is a good one and it could have been so much better, but John Woo screwed it up and made it a film about Nicholus Cage.

Yes, MI2 was not as good as the original... but I still think it was "entertaining". And I did like Face Off... but overall Woo is not a good director. He is the kind of director who should just be in charge of an action sequence and not a whole movie because when he is in charge of a whole movie he makes it all unrealistic action... MI2 in point... what was with riding a motorcyle with feet on the GROUND.... Riiiight!

I wouldn't even want Woo to do action scenes in films for other people. They are too weird. People cant fly or bend gravity in a 'realistic' style movie. Get with the program Woo! Like Bolivar said, Riiiiiiiiight!

I don't know who directed it but remember the trailer for laura croft 2:

Click for Spoiler:

"PEOPLE ACTUALLY FLY!!!"

What a load of crap that was, I didn't see the cradle of life because of that line.
