Vic 17 Posted May 17, 2012 In honor of the release of a new deluxe three-disc Star Trek: The Motion Picture soundtrack, a Star Trek: The Motion Picture Soundtrack Celebration will take place next month. The celebration will be held June 4 at 7: 30 PM at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood, California. The Star Trek: The Motion Picture Soundtrack Celebration is billed as a “one-of-a-kind multi-media event, and will feature a live panel discussion and presentation, CD soundtrack signing, The Motion Picture props and costume display, and a screening of Star Trek: The Motion Picture: The Director’s Edition. The ninety-minute panel discussion/presentation event will be hosted by Jeff Bond, author of The Music of Star Trek. Panel guests schedule include: Original The Motion Picture soundtrack album and The Motion Picture re-issue soundtrack producer and longtime Goldsmith recording engineer Bruce Botnick, The Motion Picture synthesizer performer Craig Huxley, The Motion Picture session violinist and renowned composer David Newman, The Motion Picture soundtrack re-issue producer and The Motion Picture Director’s Edition producer Mike Mattesino, The Motion Picture director of photography Richard H. Kline, and others to be announced. Attendees will see and hear exclusive video and audio clips, and a live demonstration by Huxley of his famed eighteen-foot “Blaster Beam” instrument, used in the Star Trek: The Motion Picture‘s score. Huxley and Botnick will be signing the CD sets, which will be available for purchase (cash only) for $30 at the event. The CD set will be released to the general public on Thursday, June 5.
