NOAA?s National Weather Service says ?When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors?

Our love of outdoor activities and the frequency of thunderstorms make summer the most likely time to be injured or killed by lightning, according to statistics compiled by NOAA?s National Weather Service. In order to reduce lightning injuries and fatalities, the National Weather Service is promoting Lightning Safety Awareness Week the last week of June.

As a boy, my mother was always mindful of having me get myself indoors when a storm seemed imminent, and as an adult, I respect nature....it is always best to take care, wherever you are, to find shelter, when you begin to hear thunder..a little reminder,' Hey stay sharp'....and it's also not a bad idea, to keep in mind one's electronics gear as well in regards to protecting your investments, be it tv's, whatnot..certainly with a surge protector, but there's no substitute for simply unplugging something-including a computer power source-if for a bit...and watching when, and how long you are online if a storm appoaches...
