Why is the old STARTREKFANS.NET still up?

I found a link back to the old site, and didn't expect it to even be up anymore, but was surprised when I found that it was. I was wondering why it was still up?

This version is way better, but i think it's a great thing to keep the other one, you know the roots. To me the roots are a lot.
