MrPsychic 1 Posted October 22, 2008 I noticed that Absinthe has finally been legalized for production and consumption in the US. With that, I now wonder if the Green Fairy lives up to her reputation. Wishfire 2 Posted October 27, 2008 The "it's hallucinogenic" myth is due to reports from the 19th century, during a time when many absinthe producers used toxic chemicals to give it a greener appearance. It's most likely that it's the chemicals used that produced hallucinations, not the absinthe itself.
