MrPsychic 1 Posted October 22, 2008 I noticed that Absinthe has finally been legalized for production and consumption in the US. With that, I now wonder if the Green Fairy lives up to her reputation. It's said to be a hallucinogen, to inspire authors and artists. Has anyone who drank it notice those effects, or even flat out like the taste of it?
He Who Shall Not Be Named 2 Posted October 26, 2008 Dude, where you been? Absinthe was legalized in the US a year ago.
Wishfire 2 Posted October 27, 2008 The "it's hallucinogenic" myth is due to reports from the 19th century, during a time when many absinthe producers used toxic chemicals to give it a greener appearance. It's most likely that it's the chemicals used that produced hallucinations, not the absinthe itself. (It's also possible that some people made absinthe using psychotropic substances, kinda like making magic brownies.)
