TJ Phaserman 2 Posted April 30, 2008 CHICAGO - Police are investigating an unconfirmed cougar sighting early Wednesday on the Northwest Side. The latest sighting is about 2.5 miles from the Roscoe Village neighborhood, where Chicago police fatally shot a cougar April 14. An anonymous citizen reported seeing a cougar near the intersection of North California and West Lawrence avenues around 3:15 a.m., according to a Lincoln District police sergeant. The caller said the cougar was eastbound on Lawrence Avenue, according to the sergeant, who did not know at 3:35 a.m. if the sighting was bona fide. The sighting is just off the banks of the North Branch of the Chicago River, near the southeast corner of River Park. On April 14, Chicago police fatally shot a cougar about 5:30 p.m. in the alley behind the 3400 block of North Hamilton Avenue on North Side. :) :)
