I seem to remember Robby the Robot was one of the chess-pieces in "Where No Man Has Gone Before"... Am I correct with this bit of pointless trivia or did this never happen?

Are you sure it was that episode? I was looking at some screen caps from that episode and the chess pieces look like standard chess pieces to me. Here's a link to one of them: Chess Game Picture
