Kor37 9 Posted March 13, 2008 Pluck of the Irish: Beer Costume StolenAP Posted: 2008-03-13 18:07:46 EASTPOINTE, Mich. (AP) - Police in suburban Detroit are looking for a 6-foot-tall glass of Guinness. Don't worry, it's work-related. A green, pint-glass-shaped Guinness costume has been reported stolen from an Eastpointe resident's garage. It's valued at $3,000 and had been flown to Michigan from Ireland to be used as advertising. Eastpointe Police Lt. Leo Borowsky says it is believed to be one of only two such costumes in the U.S. Authorities say a Detroit beer distribution company loaned out the costume for Halloween. The owner of the home where the costume had been stored found out it had been stolen after the company asked for it back. Borowsky says to be on the lookout. There's no better time to dress up as a green pint of Guinness than on St. Patrick's Day. Trust me......wearing a beer costume doesn't get you free beer....... Kor37 9 Posted March 18, 2008 Brilliant! Stolen Guinness beer costume resurfacesAP Posted: 2008-03-18 08:17:23 EASTPOINTE, Mich. (AP) - A stolen, 6-foot-tall Guinness beer costume has been returned, but the identity of the thief remains a mystery. The green, pint glass-shaped costume turned up missing after a sales representative for a Detroit beer distribution company loaned it to a friend for Halloween. Michael Nowak tells The Detroit News someone anonymously dropped off the promotional costume on his friend's porch on Sunday. Nowak says his friend stored the $3,000 costume in his garage in Eastpointe. The homeowner last Monday found out it had been stolen after Nowak asked for the costume's return for St. Patrick's Day. Nowak tells The Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens he's happy the costume's back in part because of the grief he took from his boss. Yeahhh.......I was all done with it..........
